I have 2 switches. One I don’t use really anymore because it had a lot of issues. My second one (got it in 2019. It’s the second model) is really good and I love to use it. I considered the lite one but I didn’t like the idea of it not being able to dock, and the joy cons not coming off. I also like hd rumble. I understood that it was cheaper, but not what I wanted. My mom told me she won’t get me another one so I take extra care of my switch XD the joy cons sometimes are weird.

My parents preordered the yellow one for me for my birthday! I’ve always been the one with the “lite” versions of consoles (DS lite, 2ds) and they haven’t failed me yet, so I’m honestly really excited
The other good thing about the Lite is the fact that it can be easily disassembled for button changes or for replacement parts. I have the grey Switch Lite and have taken it apart like 20 times already haha. But yeah, I've mostly just replaced the white analog sticks and buttons with red analog sticks and red buttons lol. Heck, you can even put more thermal paste on the CPU cooler over time to keep that thing cool after a bunch of disassembles lol.
for me it’s just because it’s cheap and smaller, allthough ill agree it looks so much better than the full fat switch, it was a good upgrade from the vita for me.

I’m pretty selfish so this is the perfect system for me lol. I see I can play Mario kart, smash brothers ultimate, and saints row 3. Those are the only games that’ll make me happy and it’s affordable. Nintendo is going the right way.
I got the lite as my only switch because all I wanted out of it is the portability so this was perfect for me! I completely agree with you on Nintendo’s choice to make it stand alone with no dock for tv play
I would recommend the Switch Lite either to someone who doesn't have a lot of time to play games, someone who travels around a lot and likes to play video games on the go, or someone who already has a Switch and has a kid, but wants to get their kid their own Switch.

What do you mean I'm playing Breath of the wild on my lite and it's amazing. I went with this because I didnt feel like spending the extra, and I also am saving for an Oculus. So yeah. Only other thing I bought with my light is the wireless controller, plus zelda's. So boom perfect. I couldn't be any happier with the graphics and performance. I don't need the extra stuff just zelda, doom, skyrim, etc. The normal console games. I bought the controller for shooters, other than that I just use the lite controls. When I buy skyrim, this will probably be like the 8th time buying it lol. Also there's cases with a kick stand on it. I was also very happy with the power a controller, no lag what so ever.

The Switch Lite is a beautiful looking console and I even considered it for a little bit but I knew deep down that I wanted to regular Switch. It's not a sharing issue although I have been playing Mario Kart 8 with my girlfriend, but I like to have the option to play in three different ways rather than one for an extra £80
i may ask for this for my birthday as i share with my brother (and the controllers are really broken) but my only concern is that the controller drifting may be as bad as the dockable switch
I just got the switch lite today and tbh I’m very happy with my purchase. The lite was the best option for me because I’m still having to Xbox plugged into the tv and I have the PS4 hooked up into the living room tv and I wasn’t about to unplug either of those so the lite was the best option for me
Actually.. if Nintendo wanted to be greedy, they would allow the Lite to be dock-able. Lite is 100 less yes.. but.. having to buy a dock (I know they released a dock only but have fun finding thay) will run you what.. 59.99? 69.99? Then either a set of joycon - 79.99 or a pro controller 59.99.. so in the end Nintendo would have made more money .. now yes you could buy pre owned and save some money.. but still. Still debating on ordering a Lite.. I may put in a preorder for the Pokemon on Gamestop.. but who knows.

Why for 1 person do I have to have 1 separate JoyCon, and can't use the whole system? 🥺 I usually like to game alone, so super disappointing, and I'm not gonna buy 2 separate JoyCons for 1 game to play by myself with only 1 JoyCon out of the 2 I just purchased on a 5 inch screen or whatever lmao, that's dumb! lane sansom I think it depends on how you want to use it. If you play on the go, then you may want the lite. If you want to play on the TV and have friends over then get the regular Switch.
I'm more of a handheld/play-by-myself person. Nintendo Switch Lite is the perfect one for me as I always wanted a chance to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for myself. Very excited for its debut.
One of my younger brothers has a regular switch & I got a black one for my birthday and it was too big too hold so I gave it to my older brother & now I’m waiting to get my switch lite because it’s the perfect fit for me. Not too big, not too small, and the colors are amazing 🤩

I usually play on the TV unless I’m playing Super Mario Maker 2 You CAN connect joy cons to the switch lite, but a switch lite plus 2 joy cons plus a charging device is more than the regular switch, which defeats the whole purpose.
Son is taking his switch to college so for me, it’s perfect. I didn’t want to spend $399 again for another switch. And I don’t need all the bells and whistles. Already ordered it.
I mean, the Lite would be perfect for the people with less money in mind. Most base PS4`s and Xbox Ones are 250-300 dollars if you look, so the Switch Lite can be a jumping point for people to enter the Switch Ecosystem without devoting that extra 100$ if you dont think you need it as a Console. Hopefully I can pitch in and help get a Switch Lite for my friend.
I wish if the Switch Lite wasn’t a watered down version because I prefer this form factor than the original. I was willing to pay full $300 if it had a smaller dock and kept the HD rumble.

I’d recommend a Switch Lite to well, myself. I mostly play in bed and so it would be a great option to have and just tuck under the bed when I’m done.

lane sansom I think it depends on how you want to use it. If you play on the go, then you may want the lite. If you want to play on the TV and have friends over then get the regular Switch.
They are just like 30% cheaper. If its 50% then i might consider it

Why? The screen isn't that small and it's held right in front of your face.

I'm more of a handheld/play-by-myself person. Nintendo Switch Lite is the perfect one for me as I always wanted a chance to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for myself. Very excited for its debut.

One of my younger brothers has a regular switch & I got a black one for my birthday and it was too big too hold so I gave it to my older brother & now I’m waiting to get my switch lite because it’s the perfect fit for me. Not too big, not too small, and the colors are amazing 🤩

I have a switch lite and I have to just give it to my sis so she can play and then we have 2 take turns and if I had a normal switch we could just play together instead of turns it’s so annoying

You CAN connect joy cons to the switch lite, but a switch lite plus 2 joy cons plus a charging device is more than the regular switch, which defeats the whole purpose.
Son is taking his switch to college so for me, it’s perfect. I didn’t want to spend $399 again for another switch. And I don’t need all the bells and whistles. Already ordered it.
I’m going with the Lite because the (2019) Switch is expensive in my country and I think most Switch games are stupidly overpriced

I mean, the Lite would be perfect for the people with less money in mind. Most base PS4`s and Xbox Ones are 250-300 dollars if you look, so the Switch Lite can be a jumping point for people to enter the Switch Ecosystem without devoting that extra 100$ if you dont think you need it as a Console. Hopefully I can pitch in and help get a Switch Lite for my friend.
I wish if the Switch Lite wasn’t a watered down version because I prefer this form factor than the original. I was willing to pay full $300 if it had a smaller dock and kept the HD rumble.

Well the bigger games also will just not run as good , since docked gets a bump in power . Yes it will run but not to it's best it can .
It'll run the same as the normal Switch in handheld mode

@@jaeehovaa from my experience games run better in handheld mode 90% of the time because it's running them at a lower resolution, resulting in a more stable/higher frame rate.

Go to digital foundry's TH-cam page and see the actual numbers for your self , and I'm talking about actual taxing games like Wolfenstein, doom, marvel alliance 3 , these are just facts .. this isn't even am argument I was making a statement that if you are buying a switch lite don't expect the same experience for all games , most if them will run below 720p .
@@jaeehovaa I said they'll run at a lower res hotshot, read what you're responding to. Games tend have a better FRAME RATE in handheld mode.
Been trying out the lite to see if me and the woman are getting the big version for the family. So far it's really good, and she keeps stealing from me to play the SNES games when I'm tryina get thru my first playthrough of the new zelda game 🤣😭
