    Thanks a lot for great tutorial!
    I guess this why Houdini hard to learn - Simple stuff so much over-complicated. Just insane how much stuff i need to learn to simple Randomize Y-Rotation.

    Loved this one! I bet these techniques would work really well with the terrain stuff in Houdini, which I've not even tried yet :)

      terrain stuff heightfields scatter) is working with "mask by feature node". heightfields are working best with masks, otherwise I think you should convert heightfield to actual geometry (convert heightfield node)" and than use VOP network.

    Nice tutorial. I would probably just follow these tricks and turn that into an asset so I don't have to do it again next time I need it. Point VOP nodes are not fun for me x)

    Is it possible to draw individual points on the geometry? Also what would be the workflow if I want to scatter high poly objects but preview low res in the viewport?

    can you use this to scatter on a plane or in unreal engine landscape and decrease their radius of distribution like for only 1m x 1m?

      Do you mean scatter only within an area 1mx1m? I would use the density. Make a density attribute that is constrained to a 1mx1m area (everything else has a density of zero) and use this to drive the density of the points. You could use another object to find the center of the area (make the density attribute based on distance from this object)- so you could move it around the surface. Let me know if this makes sense or you want a more in depth explanation- or if I have completely misunderstood the question.

      @@houdinikitchen you really did understand my question, the thing is too that what If for example I wanted to only distribute the scatter on object or static mesh not in the landscape that is also possible right and how I can implement that? thank you, still lot to learn from houdini.
