This time many many thanks for MAHABILVUM AND PETREA ARBORUS (BUSH PETREA). Wrightia 3 varieties covered in the last video, specially the orange one.
Mam I had purchased a Mahabilvum Pkant online, delivered on 4th of January 2024. The plant remained stable without sunlight and withstood untimely rains during the gone winters also. But by the spring lost all leaves and presently it is bare leaved but branches and stem green and healthy.
To the best of my knowledge, belpatra plants don't shed leaves at all. Does this Mahabilvum Variety does shed leaves or my plant is in danger ?

Coming to Aegle marmelos or Maha Vilvam or for that matter any Bael. Bael are not evergreen plants but deciduous. So whenever the temperatures drop below 15 degrees they will shed leaves as cold weather prompts them to go into dormancy. However, in regions with tropical climate like the coastal areas of our country they shed very few leaves as there are no winters. But in places like Bangalore or Pune where temperatures drop even though they do not have pronounced winters, the Aegle marmelos do shed leaves. Here in Northern India they certainly go bald at times but come Spring they are up again ,sometimes flowering even before the leaves come out properly.
Just scratch the trunk of your plant and check if it is green. If yes, just fertilize it once with a fist full of powdered mustard powder, rake up the soil and water when required. It will be fine.
