Like most, I do prefer the original music video more but I didn't hate this. It definitely fit the vibe of the song and it feels very Dua but the first one was my first exposure to her so I'm more fond of it.
I love Dua and i appreciate everything that she puts out because she truly is an amazing artist but I personally like the old video better. I remember in one of her interviews she said that be the one is about not giving up and being persistent towards your goals in life and this video although has beautiful visuals.. For me doesnt really have a meaning? I dont know. Maybe im not understanding the message behind it but yeah
If I may, I think this video provides more depth behind the directors interpretation of it, not necessarily her idea (which I don't mean say isn't valid as well) behind it. But all in all, it's not a video that's suppose to be understood at face value. I believe it's suppose to represent our egos - fear of love especially that drives us away from our higher selves. The light was her subconscious telling her to let go of fear and try to show someone she loved that anger and frustration doesn't define his soul.
Never realized this was released around 2015-2016 until now. In my country Dua wasn't so well known until 2018, with "One Kiss". Sometimes people just don't care so much about interesting artists like Dua :-(

I love Dua and i appreciate everything that she puts out because she truly is an amazing artist but I personally like the old video better. I remember in one of her interviews she said that be the one is about not giving up and being persistent towards your goals in life and this video although has beautiful visuals.. For me doesnt really have a meaning? I dont know. Maybe im not understanding the message behind it but yeah

Nah Lady gaga is the true artist, dua can't stop repeating the same sentence like a broken record .
If I may, I think this video provides more depth behind the directors interpretation of it, not necessarily her idea (which I don't mean say isn't valid as well) behind it. But all in all, it's not a video that's suppose to be understood at face value. I believe it's suppose to represent our egos - fear of love especially that drives us away from our higher selves. The light was her subconscious telling her to let go of fear and try to show someone she loved that anger and frustration doesn't define his soul.

Never realized this was released around 2015-2016 until now. In my country Dua wasn't so well known until 2018, with "One Kiss". Sometimes people just don't care so much about interesting artists like Dua :-(
@daisy ornelas I said that in my country (Chile) Dua didn't have so much recognition until 2018. People here are always high on reggaeton (which I think is trash)
