Good call. I’ve seen her in a few interviews, and she is really funny, sometimes hilarious. All of her costars describe her as hilarious when they’re doing press.
I first discovered Daisy Edgar-Jones in the comedy-horror film "Fresh" with Sebastian Stan, and I had no idea that she is a Brit, as she pulled off her American accent very perfectly. Of course, "Twister" is my favorite disaster movie of all time, and "Twisters" is a perfect standalone follow-up to the original, and the kind of disaster movie that really needed a kick-ass comeback.
Oh! She's the actress from "Where the Crawdads Sing!" Didn't even know she was British...haven't seen much of her work, but her American accent is perfect.
The United States, which has an area called Tornado Alley, takes the crown for the sheer number averaging 1,200 annually, plus the strongest and most destructive tornadoes. The West Coast have had a couple F1s/F2s, and the East Coast has seen quite a few, but their numbers and frequency don't compare with Oklahoma. Canada, Australia, and all of Europe combined don't reach that level. Other countries effected by tornadoes are Bangladesh, South Africa, eastern China, Japan, and Argentina.
@@lisab9541 You sure do. I just didn't feel like listing all the states in Tornado Alley. Figured anyone interested could Google the info. Just read a tornado touched down in upstate New York. Unlike you folks, we ain't prepared for that here in the Northeast. Hurricanes, but not tornadoes.
So this kid comes into my book selling place and says, “I’d like a book on hard to explain paranormal stories from 9/11” and I say, son….I have just the book for you. Opening chapter: So a NY Transit Subway superintendent, John B McMahon, was in his office near the World Trade Centre. His phone rang and he was told to immediately go to the station near Rector St. and get all workers and people out of the station. He went there and found it empty, so he went back out into the street. He looked up at the tower at what he thought was a ring of smoke, and then there was huge whooshing sound and the air was suddenly filled with ash, smoke and dust so thick that he couldn’t see and his mouth filled up with it. Just as he scooped it out of his mouth and eyes they would fill up again. He couldn’t see a foot in front of his face. Then he heard people around him counting off to show that they were alive. One person took his hand and led him out of the fog of dust. They all walked towards two lights he could see ahead, and when they got into clear air he saw that it was car headlights. He turned around to thank the person who took his hand and to see the other people…but there was no one there…he was completely alone. And the kid says, “I want true stories…not fake ones!” and I say, kid…Mr. McMahon made an official NY Transit report on it….but the kid is gone.
Of all the scenes they picked from Twisters to show to the audience, why one where she barely has any time to speak? If it were me, I'd pick the scene where her character is bonding with Glen Powell at the rodeo.
There’s a lot of moments in Twisters where she does a “standard” American accent and sounds amazing, but as soon as she puts in a twang, it’s painfully bad
She is so charming on screen, and the chemistry between her and Powell is tangible. I can't wait to see more of her in the future.
Exactly, the more i saw them together, the more screen time I wanted for them
I felt like it was non existent. I was not impressed. They chose the wrong actress for this
@@fivelittlemonkees I agree. I honestly love her, she was great in Normal People and Fresh but Twisters was just not it.
loved them in this! She was great in Fresh too with Sebastian Stan
Im very impressed with Glen Powell's ability to carry a movie with his charisma and charm. Not that many actors can do that. Amazing!!
This feels like a great pairing for day drinking with Seth
Good call. I’ve seen her in a few interviews, and she is really funny, sometimes hilarious. All of her costars describe her as hilarious when they’re doing press.
She is not American and pretending to be one. That is just wrong. People would be upset if a straight person played a transgender. Right? Right!
Absolutely. Make Dua jealous. Increase the tension for part 2. 🤣
What a charmer; talented, grounded and smart.

I just saw the movie and had no idea she was British. Took a page from Hugh Laurie apparently
Excellent In Where The Crawdads Sing
@@rosegombos2120 yep. Not many other indie films get my attention
Yes I discovered her in that movie too then i follow her and watched her previously show Normal People

Such a talented actress - Twisters was an enjoyable movie
And they make a very cute couple. I'm happy for them.
She's got a promising career ahead. Can't wait for Twisters.
MY GIRL DAISYY love her so much 🤍🤍🤍
Didn't realize she was British. The British are colonizers who enslaved billions of people.
We love daisy edgar jones
0:16 "Let's go - go!" (go go go go go go)
"Let's go - go! Let's go - go!"
"Go!"
They looped the same words repeatedly lmao
HELPP she's sooo funny, how can someone look this gorgeous and funny at the same time
My girlfriend in 1981 had that exact hairstyle. It's amazing how styles come back around over time.
I immediately thought of an in-concert Stevie Nick's clip where she has that haircut. It's on YT.
It’s cute still
Daisy
Such a beauty!
She is so beautiful
I don't know about the plot or the movie but I just kept looking at this charming lady the whole time.
She's got "it".
Same
she's so fine, i loved her in war of the worlds remake show
She is a rare beauty 😍😍.gorgeous
‘Twister’ came out in ‘96 and Daisy came out in ‘98 😂
Daisy Edgar Jones is beautiful
0:42 Bowser's laugh when you lose in Mario 64 lmao whoever mixed the audio is having a blast
btw the shaky cam is ridiculous.
saw the movie this weekend. quite predictable, but daisy is so charming!
she's giving keira knightley
So when are we going to get our first episode of Storm Chasing With Seth and Daisy?
I’d watch them go out with a Reed Timmer & Co. caliber crew. And get Glen and Anthony along.
I was born in 91. Think I watched Twister for the first time in 99/00. I'm surprised she managed to avoid it for so long, lol
Reminds me of a very young Liz Hurley yeah baby!
She is the next Cate Blanchett and Katherine Hepburn.

We Kansans have quite a lot of them.

Movie is awesome! She plays the character very well. It´s true to the original, good story, no woke BS 👍
Not Seth committing to Mumblecore in his outros tonight…
She looks like a mix of Keira Knightley and Emmy Rossum.
I'm getting lots of Dakota Johnson, but it might be mostly the hairstyle.
but prettier
Dakota>
I wonder which talk show host has hugged the most guests?
Craig Ferguson was super huggy, especially if we count additional hugs at the end of the interview
I just watch Twisters and I was NOT expecting this accent 😅
she is British OfCourse
I love movies that are just a bunch of running around and yelling
Great film, and she's really hot as a blonde.
she was so hot in fresh
Second on SETH
The only one chasing Glenn Powell is Daisy , not the tornado 🌪️ 😂
Throughout ❤
There were some twisters in my place 2 days ago❤❤🎉🎉 not common
is she wearing the same outfit as Helen Hunt in the original?

Welp. I'm old.
why do I think Daisy and Caitlin Clark are cousins?

Wow. Did Stanley Kubric have anything to do with this movie? They brought an actual storm cell along. Now _that_ is clout! God must be a fanboy LOL.
First on SETH
She’s losing her British accent 😢😢
Yeah she sounds like Nadine Coyle a bit accent wise. An odd mix of Irish, American and English despite being British 😂 she sounds like Marianne
Her mum is Irish and her Dad is Scottish, but brought up in London, hence the Irish twang every now and then.
I find her dull as hell but so sweet lol can't explain it
2nd
Rate?
Can't they find Americans to play the main roles in these dum blockbusters
Not many good ones in that hillbilly forest, lol.
Why should they? Brits have been in Hollywood productions since the beginning of the film industry.
@@hwren9845 I love the Brits in films 🙂American accent or not.
Hollywood. Killing creativity and spoonfeeding "a sure thing" as creative art. Who asked for a movie sequel almost 30 years later? WTF?
The ticket pre-sales say otherwise, bro.
its a crazy good concept and the first one sucked ass. i'd say it very much needed a redo anyway lmfao
@mimi-sk2ip I see that point of view, just so many of these decades old movies being done it begs "where's the creativity? "
@@mimi-sk2ip Errrrr, the first one was pretty awesome. It was stupid, yeah, but it was pretty awesome regardless.
@@jon8004 this one is awesome too fun af on the big screen and pretty dramatic. i liked it a lot
I know her from such films where she is meant to be a regionally specific American character and has been miscast almost every time🤔
There’s a lot of moments in Twisters where she does a “standard” American accent and sounds amazing, but as soon as she puts in a twang, it’s painfully bad
Were there no Americans that could play her role?
Wtf
