Brilliant idea and then our young can go out now too, doing exactly what you have mentioned, and then you will be all be fit and ready trained for when you have to do it when you reach pensionable age! Productivity will be so much better from those who have already had early training and learned to bend their backs and knees. You'll be twice as efficient as we will be, but as pioneers, yes, I'm ready to do that to help my country! I won't have that early training which the young will have, so I might be slow and you might all starve, but when it comes to willingness, sign me up! 👍🤣

The penalties proposed by the Tories if you don't do national service are far more insidious than most are talking about. The big one is refusing financial support. Why is it insidious? Because the working and middle classes are the ones who might need financial support, e.g. going to university. The wealthy don't need access to financial support, so that penalty has zero effect on them.
In short, the proposed penalty of revoking financial support exposes the truth about this national service push. It's designed to push the poor into service (largely military service), while the wealthy can sit back and just opt out without a care in the world.
The good news is that this policy will not see the light of day, because the Tories are finished, but just the fact they're pushing for this with their dying breath speaks volumes.

@@peterjermey7235You need to pay attention; the military options are fully paid one year contract and the other is 25 days of compulsory voluntary work, mainly on weekends regardless of employment status but there may be exemptions.
The military aspect may now only be 25 days onsite and the remainder of the year working remotely often from home or a cafe.
Clearly the whole policy was meticulously defined before announcing rather than the media's insinuating a nonsense being made up whilst in front of cameras and reporters.

After looking at the 2030 roadmap for UK-Israel bilateral relations. It scares me sh..less that our young people would be working closely with and even trained/influenced by "The most moral army in the world". Both political parties have demonstrated their "unqualified support for Zionism". We have all seen what "unqualified support for Zionism" means in Gaza. The IOF also relies on conscription. We have seen how the "most moral army in the world" behaves from their frequent posts on line. I understand that the IOF trained many of the police departments in the US. I noticed how those police departments dealt with the students protesting peacefully on campus. Conscription would rely on the trust of the British people. Where is that trust when both political parties in the UK seem to be supporting war crimes in the middle east against an oppressed illegally occupied population.

Yep and to be blunt they don't seem to do much of anything for 91k a year (adding in benefits it's well over 100k a year) - considering how when they are supposedly working one of the most important full time jobs in this country they can quite easily manage to contract with multiple other companies at the same time which really should be viewed as quite a large conflict of interest in addition to demonstrating that maybe they just aren't putting enough hours into their full time position.
