My all time favorite song. Took me a while to get used to sing along to that strumming pattern. As soon as I started singing my right hand went all over the place. I've been playing for 18 months and now it's no problem. So much fun! ❤🎸
This is a nice, older and seemingly forgotten about classic. Thanks for bringing some life back into it. Its an easy one to play, hopefully it gives beginners some inspiration to really tackle that dreaded "F".
Thank you for his video, I’m a beginner and all these other videos go too fast , don’t have strumming pattern or even notes in the video. I will be practicing this song
You’re a great teacher! Looking forward to more Fingerstyle songs. I’ve watched a lot of “how to” fingerstyle videos, you’re style is very easy to follow. The video of “The Wind” is nicely done. Keep teaching and hope to see a fingerstyle song soon;)
I am feeling really stupid not being able to grasp the Dsus riff. I’d ask for a more clear to me understanding but what you’ve created looks straightforward. Struggling with guitar a lot lately.
Hi David, I'm learning this for my brother so I have purchased the Song Notes. This is an excellent tool, thank you. I have just one question, what tempo (bpm) are you playing in the video?
Thank you for your lesson on this. I am a Patreon member and I see this same question posted below. How are you counting the D Dsus portion? The wheels come off for me because the count doesn't seem like 12 && 4&. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have a bit different strumming pattern, which is D-D-DU-DUU for verses, and I put accents like this: D Dsus4 D Dsus2 D D--D--D---------U--D--U---------U
Hey David, Great tutorial, but I have one tiny critisim. I normally wouldn't say anything, but it grates on me like fingernails on a chalk board for this particular lesson. There is a small mistake in your lyrics. On the part where "The streets don't change, but baby the name" I should be "MAYBE" the name.

After going through a bunch of "Patience" lessons, your's is the most understandable for me. Thank you for your hard work :)

What strumming pattern did you use with d, d sus2 and d sus4? Can anyone help me out with this?

D Dsus4 D Dsus2 D

Ending strum pattern us not on the video or the tab sheet music. Can anyone advise?
