    a ratrod is what you created for your self with what you had and what you did for your self with your two hands, you dont have to go with the crowd you stand with part of you in a machine that you brought back to life be proud!

    Jeff, You have true engineering skills and a great artistic touch. I love the steelies and baldies and wide whites and the vintage Ford steering wheel and the bottle opener on the dash. Truly a work of engineering art. Thanks for a great video. Oh, also the music shows great taste.

    I have done a lot of crazy, oddball stuff in my lifetime, but grinding welds in slacks and a tie is a new one.

    I was using the stock I-beam front axle so I just kept it stock width. The 454 still fit well between the rails

    Hey Jeff, this is seriously a sick ride man. I was wondering how you went about building the frame for it? I have read some books on it and none of them seem to sit as low as yours did. Did you use some type of diagram? Either that you made or found? I'd love to see it if possible. Thanks man. Sick ride again!

    Alex. The front section of the frame is z'd up about 11 inches to allow room for the crossmember box I made to hide the airbags. It's not very high tech just some 5 inch bags from Airbagit.com

    hey jeff absolutley bad asssss truck, i am building a 48 ford truck and i was wandering what kind of air system did u used on the front i-beam axle to keep it behind or under the radiator. cause i like how it lowers the complete body without putting the axle in front of the radiator and the looks of it. like to use a system like that on my truck

    Cool, But I am not sure I would call it a "Rat Rod" It doesn't look like a rusty hunk of shyt that a sane man would be afraid to drive.

    Can you share this project? I'm going to build a hot rod and in my country we have almost no information on where to start. My project is basically the same as yours, I need you to help me with the measurements and construction of the chassis

  • @trainsnmorebuffalo
    @trainsnmorebuffalo 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Rat rod? Don't you mean hotrod. The minute you painted it and "cleaned" it, it was no longer considered a Ratrod.

    • @johncartelli
      @johncartelli 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +trainsnmorebuffalo there is no definite line between a rat or hotrod....paint imho doesnt make a rat a hotrod... even though a lot of rats arent painted...its the builders interpretation of what the car is...ive seen rusty vehicles that are so badly put together just so it can be a rat..but thats unsafe..then theres rats that are built well...so if the builder calls it a rat it is..if he calls it a hotrod..it is.....there are so many cars inbetween the different types..hell you cant tell anymore..hotrods, shockrods, rat rods, tradional rods any one could easily blend into another type somehow.....lol

    • @doowopp45
      @doowopp45 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +trainsnmorebuffalo I have to agree with you. Not necessarily about the paint but just that its simply too nice. Love rat rods but I don't think this is one. Bitchin truck.

    • @johncartelli
      @johncartelli 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      true a rat brings to mind rust and holes...but it comes down to what the builder considers it...
