I've had one of these tanks since Nov. 2022 and enjoy it. I place mine on a heavy duty "blue" pallet, screwed some board around the bottom to keep it from shifting, then I added a RV style battery box and the cheapest AutoZone auto battery I could find. I keep the battery on trickle charge in my workshop until I need to move it. This works great for me because I don't have to fool with connecting to a battery each time I want to use it. Great video, glad I stumbled upon your channel today!

Mike, if you can find a way to keep the sun off your tank, you will reduce the water-in-the-fuel build up. The sun heats the tank and the fuel. As it all cools it pulls in outside moisture laden air thru the tank vent. Over time the moisture builds up in the tank. Great video! Thanks, Lee

@@jerryc3050 There is a BIG difference in the temperature of a dark colored piece of plastic setting out in the sun, and the same plastic with a light colored reflective cover over it. Especially if the cover is gaped a bit above for air flow.

Any home improvement store sells thermal blankets. Think of the windshield things you put in the window to block out the sun to protect your dash. But on a lager scale and comes in a roll.

I picked up one of those about 6 weeks ago. With the L3400 and my new KX040 I’m not going to be hauling around 5gal cans. I put it on a pallet for easy portability and have a place to secure a battery and a solar charger. Paid $3.08 for off-road diesel on its first fill up. Bad news is my tank wasn’t free, I paid cool hard cash for it. 😂

I use an in-bed 105 gallon tank with tool box combo. I have 9 tractors and 2 diesel pick ups. I lose 2 feet of pick up bed in my 8' bed. For me it's better to have the in bed tank: I can stock up on diesel when price is down and hopefully make it through the high price periods. But: I see the usefulness of the one you have too. Good choice.

I have a 50gal steel tank too, Mike, and like you said - game changer! I mounted mine to a small pallet and added casters so I could push it around the barn (concrete floor).
You mentioned adding a filter, but I also added a 12v lawn tractor battery to mine too. That way, it's always ready to go and I don't have to mess with the cords. Now, I was pleasantly surprised that my lawn tractor battery actually lasts well over 6 months on a single charge. After all, it's only pumping fuel and nothing else. You might consider adding a "spare" battery and see what you think.

I don't have anything diesel, just gasoline and two stroke. It seems the tanks are catered for diesel applications. For gasoline they lean more towards the stand-up cart tanks. I typically have five 5-gallon gas cans for the riding lawn mower and two 2.5-gallon cans of mix for the chain saw, pole saw and weed trimmer for one season. Having a gas cart would be easier than the 5-gallon cans. Not worried about the mix fuel.

The plastic tank is likely to outlive 4 fuel pumps and 2 sets of hoses. Just don't store it in direct sunlight all the time.
I'm going to be building a "fuels locker" for my fuel cans to not be in the barn, still be convenient and not out in the sun.
Scrap R-panel and a few 2X4 plus a pallet floor (open venting downward to prevent vapor accumulation)
A couple of hardened bags of concrete for weight. Put those bags that got wet to use.

Thanks for sharing, that’s a nice looking solution for storing some diesel for your equipment. I’m surprised off road diesel isn’t available in your area. Does farmer Chris use road diesel. If he gets off road delivered maybe you could drop your tank off for his delivery and get it filled the same time, imagining he probably gets a big enough delivery to justify delivery. Wishing you and your family the best.

2:45 40 liter /min. a liter is slightly more than a quart, so it comes out slightly under 11 gallons a minute... with no hose or valve resistance (open flow) so expect 5 to 8 gallons a minute in actual use.

You didn't put a link in the description. Also I might have missed it but you never mentioned how much it costs.

Looks great and should be very “funcionable” for you.
Looking at it it’s hard to believe it will hold an entire 50 gallon drum of fuel.
Your outros are making me chuckle. Don’t ever change Captain.
