I don't know any Norwegian but I've heard it many times on TV and in videos and when I was on holidays in Oslo, but I can tell these people have a huge accent. It sounds much different than the standard Norwegian I hear often. Is that true? I'm interested in the difference between let's say Oslo accent and this accent, maybe you can ask someone to explain?

Not really, you just have to speak slowly for southerners to understand.

There isnt a standard dialect in Norway. Everyone speaks differently and you can literally drive 10 minutes an people might speak different.

There are no rules in norwegian you can say whatever you want and pretend its just another dialect

Greetings from Denmark. For a Dane it is easy to understand most Norwegian. You did a wonderful job interviewing the people.

kjempeinteressant. Jeg er også amerikansk og har lært meg norsk på min egen hånd og synes dine videoer er veldig imponerende! Man må være modig å snakke norsk med nordmen når du fortsatt lærer språket og er ikke sikkert om alt. bra jobb! :)

I'm from Sweden and I usually don't understand a word of Norwegian but I actually understood most of what everyone was saying and it sounded more similar to Swedish that any Norwegian I've heard before, do you live close to Sweden?

Bianca as I think I understood they live in Senja or close to Senja which is on the coast of northern Norway, but I don’t think it’s a too long drive from there to Sweden (about 6 hours to Kiruna)
