EWF was a great band, but still underrated to their expert musicianship of that era. Their rhythms/beats were great, but what made them subliminally catchy was their well placed syncopations, a completely lost art on today's listeners. Eric, you exposed a good example of those syncopations in this video!

Did they use Strats on the albums do you know? On the Live by Request gig I think he was playing a Yamaha or an Ibanez. I really like Ibanez guitars, but it does mean I can never get that classic Strat sound a la Nile Rodgers or some of the other chunky guitar riffs.
