Have you had any issues with engine riding like this ? I’m getting one soon either 160/170 or 190. So many people complaining about blowing up, valves going bang , gear box’s being shagged. Seems the yx 140 seems to be everyone’s s favourite

Also it’s over a grand pit bike. So why not throw it through all of that . Should take it after all not like you’re red lining it

If you service the engine regulary (change the oil, oil filter, clean the air filter and use air filter spray, you adjust the valves corectly, make sure the carb is working fine and that the spark plug is in order) and make sure you warm it up (not for 3 second and than ful gas, but you let it idle for at least 30 seconds and than take it easy for some minutes) there should be no problems with any engine. I also see a lot of people riding trough water and than riding with a wet air filter. If your air filter gets wet, stop riding! If water gets in to the cilinder, engine blows up.

@@stompsr140 yes, i would. Mine were set totally wrong from the factory. You should also check every bolt on the frame, tighten everything, tighten the spokes after first few rides,... The spokes and nuts tend to be loose some times when you buy a new bike

I have the thumpstar 170 detroit mate basically same bike they are fantastic fun and rapid for a pitbike ,i wouldnt reccomend a small person getting one as they can be difficult to start due to high compression

Yo! The bike is reliable, but it is not built as good as motocross bikes... You have to tighten everything regulary, the parts are a bit weaker... But overall it's a good bike :D

What's the build quality on this bike? I had a 150ccm chinese pitbike and everything broke. I broke the frame, rear sprocket, wheel spokes... Didn't do anything drastic just the build was shit.

have you got stock suspension and tyres? anything aftermarket?

in the beggining of the video the tires and the suspension are stock... in the proces of making the video i had to change out the rear shock, cause it just blew up and i bought a volt v2 shock, which wasn’t any good also and i blew the seals on that too. I now have a dmt shock and it’s epic and i ride dunlop geomax tyres. :)

the frame i believe is the same. I think that the 140cc engine is more reliable and really works fantastic. The 170 has some problems with the carb, but it is more powerfull.
