Marmots are endangered back home on Vancouver Island so Ive never seen or heard them before. Ironically on Mount Ida they were just running around hikers like they were dogs not making any noise.
Not to be critical, but I wouldn't be climbing a high peak like that above tree line, knowing a storm is moving in. Lightening up there is no joke. Great video though.

Yup - marmots. I know what you’re referring to. Saw several up close and whistling at each other (that’s their alert cry) while hiking in the Tetons.

Agreed I was on a road trip from Canada so YOLO. Avoid if possible for sure
