You know, I bet that whenever the OG crew goes to fight the Balmarians, Axel will make a grand re-entry having mastered Meikyoushisui and the Sekiha Tenkyouken. He's hardcore like that.

Axel was one of them bosses where I had an awesome time fighting him even though he was kicking my ass, just because his theme song is so damn awesome.

man, Axel. He is probably my favorite SRW character out of them all, just by the merit of how freaking hardcore and strong willed he is.
This is a man who survived dimensional travel and falling through the atmosphere.

I love Axel as a SRW character for two reasons: This theme, "Dark Knight", and despite being such a bad-ass pilot, he's laid back and a total smart-ass in combat. 😁

Personally I think this theme is too awesome to be used as a character theme.

Something hit me after recently playing over the game. Anyone else notice that Axel and Tetsuya have a strong resemblance to one another (despite one being a brunette and the other a redhead)?
Coincidence or maybe something to do that we don;t know what happened to the Tetsuya in Axel's universe?
Axel was the male main character of SRW A while Tetsuya is an original character in OG.
So no they simply share some design.

Eh, Axel's a bit overhyped imo.
Don;t get me wrong, Axel's cool and the Soulgain's an awesome mech. But when you get down to the barebones of his story he was running away after getting his ass kicked in repeatedly by his universe's Kyosuke and only barely managed to defeat him before teleporting over.
The initial encounters make him seem really tough mainly due ot how underpowered you are when you first encounter him for real but by the time you get to the end he's more of a pest just there to drain your energy and SP before moving onto better challenges.
The anime made it a bit better but still didn't really make him out to be that much since he kept on fighting Kyosuke in mechs DESIGNED around handling the Alt, or in a Super Robot. When he finally faced Kyosuke on even terms Kyo moped the floor with him.
Still an awesome theme though.
He is hyped because he was the male protanogist of SRW A, like Lamia was the Female Protanogist, people already loved him back in SRW A.
You forget that Beowolf has Einst DNA which allows him to repair his mech and make it even stronger. That is why Axel had trouble fighting him until he got the Soulgain also immediately before they left. And going by the Drama CD Axel tore Beowolf apart he was just unable to finish him off before he had to teleport out. Even in the OG universe Axel was always more powerful than Khosuke but his single-minded focus on preventing Kyosuke from destroying the world like his counterpart was doing prevented him from winning which is what Kyosuke and Axel both agreed was Axel's downfall.
Also in the anime he beat Kyosuke in an Ashsaber and during their final fight he and Kyosuke were fighting on even terms.
First time I ran into the Soulgain in my run (after the opening levels anyway) I was legit terrified - I spent most of my resources on clearing the map. Then this bastard shows up with his theme and HP Regen L... good times.

@@Jasina85 Ah, that would be the episode where Lamia escapes from Shadow Mirror. Tbh I find it easy, since Soulgain only targets Alteisen, so everyone are free to strike the Soulgain down without fear of being hit during the enemy turn. As for Alteisen I just put the Hagane behind it for Support Defend. When the Hagane is low on health I switch it with the Hiryuu Kai while I heal the Hagane.

I was never that Much into Axel and the Soulgain Mostly because i Only know his Jackass Personality from OG2 for GBA but When i watched Him Scream ''¡Rocket Soul Punch!'' in the A(dvance) Portable Fantranslation Preview i started to Like his Goofy Side (i am Also excited for that Fantranslation)

Axel and Kyosuke's rivalry is just as epic as it gets. With Axel's ninja-like Soulgain against Kyosuke's colossal Alteisen not to mention both of their high impact attacks, you can't ask anything more than a destruction of epic proportions. :))

After some stages and character development-he recognizes her as human being-and yells stuff like LIVE YOUR LIFE and I WILL PROTECT YOUR DREAMS too bad later AXel is thrown in another dimension together with Alfimi so AxelxLamia not gonna happen
also is it me or Axel has pairings with three Brownings? Lemon(android replacement)-Alfimi(alien with Excellen's dna)-Lamia-count as lemon's daughter?-
Gotta love the detail about Kyosuke and Axel being two sides of the same coin. Going as far as both leading armies, both being world-level threats depending on the circumstances and falling for the same woman, but not quite. Lowkey wondering if, somehow, he met Excellen first, how this would change the Universe.
