Brilliant fix Marc quite a common fault, still great to see your diagnosis process
That pwm chip looked like it had flux on it

Thank you for including the schematic as you were T/S. I was a little confused on how the "Standby voltage" was generated.
My only negative was following your work on the TV monitor, but I guess that is just me.

Bad resistors are almost always a symptom or result of the problem, not the actual problem. I like these types of Vids, component level repair. I need to get back on the videos, I been a bad boy and not watching.

I have a question, I have a Sony Bravia tv that turns on and stays on (the length of time it stays on varies from 15 seconds to 32 hours) then it suddenly turns off and I get a error code red light blinks for times. I then have to unplug it for a few minutes before I can turn it on again. With just that information, what do you think could possibly be the cause?

What do you think is wrong if the blue standby light comes on but the screen is dark.

I don't know which pneumonic everyone used for resistors but we had two...Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly" or "Bad Booze Rots Our Young Guts But Vodka Goes Well"
