Even with the issues it is unbelievable how much watch you get for the money. Love the watch. At the moment I am looking for something similar to a Seiko snzg but with hand wind and sapphire glass.
I am overjoyed with the black one I just received. I wouldn't buy a real gen 1 or 2 for the high resale prices for such an old watch. I had a gen 3 frosty but it felt too 'bling' on me with that dial, so I sold it for the high resale value and got over £100 more than I paid. I have the all black, gen 4, SRPD29K1 which I love wearing but it was over £400; definitely entering in to the realms of 'a considered purchase' for me. A bare steel model with a black or orange dial is something I have wanted for a few years. I couldn't believe it when I got my mits on the Heimdallr, with the black dial. Anybody can say 'No, you don't' if they want to, of course, but honestly, as far as my happiness and perceptions are concerned, 'I do'.
@@iangraham705 Wow. Yes, even looking at sold listings on eBay for SZSC005 (jade monster) is showing sales of £720 and 799. Turns out there is a naughty man on eBay putting Seiko branded dials in to these Heimdallr's and listing them as 'SRP307 Re-creation', or 'gen 2 Re-creation' with a blue 4th gen dial (?) for £170. Not sure how that could bring in much profit with the likely price of a Seiko dial but he's sold four or five.
Lovely review Dan 👍. Geepass sure sounded happy as soon as he/she was on screen 😁! Interesting point about the castillation scallops not lining up on both sides of the bezel- no one else has noticed that. 🙏 Have you seen the black pvd and blue bezel variants available for sale also? Great vid as usual. Nice to see a blue dial with that little black fade away on a Monster for once, instead of typical orange *ducks*. One cool thing with these is that they look really chunky, but the sizes aren't really that far from an SKX. Kanji day is really cool. The more I see of these, the more I consider.. Crap, so many watches, too small of a bank account. Seriously though, this actually seems to be really good value compared to the increasingly expensive original (like all Seikos now :( ) even with a few nitpicks. Also with the same bloody movement!
