Lego doesn't need to make "one of the best UCS sets ever made," because they can make mediocre, overpriced ones and still sell tons of copies to fans who will buy anything. Why would they spend extra to produce a set when they don't need to? And with competing brands now selling better sets for 1/3 what Lego charges, anything over 4 or 5 cents per part USD feels like a rip off for a brick set.
everyone understands this, you're just highlighting what the problem is and 99% of people would agree with you. i'm just trying to make a video on how LEGO could've made a better set and i'm fully aware they almost never will do it properly
@@newmotionbricks By that logic, your whole video would be a moot point because hardcore Lego Star Wars fans already know how it could have been better. Either way, it's a shame to see what Lego has become, with lazy or bad design decisions, overcharging, FOMO GWP's, declining quality... No way would I ever buy this set for what Lego is asking.
@@SO-ym3zs i disagree with the moot point, there definitely is a chance for LEGO to improve and i did say that. plus, people enjoy discussing this and one day it might be loud enough to make a difference. but yes, quality has dropped far too much from what it once was
Giving Leia dual molded legs instead of 3PO. Being lazy by reusing old and inaccurate molds. Making characters look worse than their previous versions. Overpricing the set and not even adding an extra skiff so that purchasing the sarlacc pit set would make it possible to recreate the scene from Ep6 (which had 2 skiffs). I will buy it but man was this set a big let down...
@@Sheggs2 Don't get me wrong, I always buy sets I think are overpriced when they're on sale. And I don't want to wait another 20 years for them to do a new UCS Sailbarge.
good video dude! you have a great eye for set anaylsis and the effects worked really well. I wish we got an all inclusive sial barge for sure, and its crazy that they keep riasing prices. It just sucks that theres not really a competator with good enough quality.
There are top-notch competitors out there: Funwhole, Pantasy, Cobi, etc. It's true they don't have the Star Wars license, but if you're just talking brick sets in general, there's no reason to stick with Lego. Paying 2 to 3 times for a set just because it says "Lego" makes little sense these days, especially with Lego's decline in quality. The best competitors have better designs, bricks, manuals, and/or packaging, often all prints and no stickers, sometimes integrated light kits, etc.
Unfortunately, people & Lego keep forgetting that there are 2 desert Skiffs in ROTJ. Jabba's Sail Barge should have been packed with more figures. The desert Skiff should have been a 2-pack with more figures to justify the price. Boba Fett should have been on the sail barge. We should have got more expensive alien characters. Let's just say the whole sail barge situation is a disappointing mess that I bought two of because I wanted 2 lightsabers because Luke's lightsaber in ROTJ is my favorite lightsaber. Now I just got to get another skiff once I finally find it on sale. Because $80 is too much for just one skiff!!! Then I can build my ultimate display MOC.
I didn’t like this build. I was all structure, and walls. I think there were 8 of the 36 steps, that were fun. It’s very sturdy, and looks great, but it was boring. Plus, why doesn’t Bib Fortuna have a cloak. He doesn’t look right. I agree that it lacks figures, but it also has no place for the the characters. Most of the floor plates are smooth. Plus, there were 36 bags, but some of the “steps” read, “Use bags 10-12.” It was not what I was used to from Lego.
i respect your opinion. there isnt any other way to change this build however as this is what it is, a big brown ship. there is definitely more room for extra minifigures however as more studs could've easily been added if needed
@@newmotionbricks While you might be from Australia, i think the video would probably be better received if you included or referenced the USD/EU price for the set as well as the majority of your audience is likely to be from elsewhere, making them think youre overestimating costs somewhere.
@@andersalstrup3077 i understand, however there are many content creators which use their own currency and have no problem doing so :) i can include extra currencies in future videos
Great watch! I love the effects and editing in this video! We want more!
thank you! there will be more

i like how you mentioned the lack of an extra skiff! also glad to hear you agree with me
You have all that to say and you're still going to put down $500 on what you say is a big let down? Have some backbone dude.
@@Sheggs2 despite it being a let down from what it could've been, it's still a set that many people will enjoy

I dont want to be rude, but you are part of the problem then. Voting with our wallet is the only thing us consumers can do to send a message.
Love This!
thank you so much
the editing is insane for such a small youtuber
appreciate it my man

thank you! yes, LEGO really need to lower their prices for the quality we're getting

We really did not need a fully detailed kitchen that never appeared in the movies -_-
i think it’s pretty cool, you’re right though in saying the extra effort went into the wrong areas
3p0 didn’t have a silver leg in the scene so it is movie acurate
sorry to correct you but he actually had a silver leg in all 3 original trilogy films

enjoy! it still looks great on display
Anything for Jabba

Have not been motivated at all to buy this
Yeah we know. This video states things we already know and does so months late.
