    I'm glad I found this channel. I have set myself an American history reading project. I haven't got to my civil war list yet. I'm still in the colonial period. When I do get to the civil war books, I'll be more prepared because of this channel. Thank you.

    Lee was one of the great 18th century generals. Grant/Sherman were the first great 20th century generals. Wars are won only when the losers realize the price of war is too great to continue to bear.
    Love this series.

    Creat episode! While still a fan of Grant, Varney won me over on Rosecrans.What do you think of him? Big fanof you guys up here in MA.

      Rosecrans was unsuccesful with Chikamagua and his results disapeared. Burnside was better because the East Tennessee campaign saved his face. Not McClallen saved West Virginia but Rosecrans, to save the startpoint for the Vicksburg campaign and Stone River were successful events, but Chikamagua changed everything. Somebody wrote Rosecrans had not any sculpture, but West Virginia could build a monument for him..............
