thomas, its not that easy:)))) 2 years ago i grabbed a guy by the neck with left hand and by the balls, from behind trough his legs with the right hand, lift him and smash him on a metal fence that was about knee high.4 broken ribs, little damage to the kidney and broken the thin layer the keeps the organs in the belly toghether dont know in english. he stay 2 months in hospital, had 3 surgery. that was a free one way ticket to the medium or above security prison. the only thing that saved my life it was that it was him that attacked me and he had a wooden chair leg and he had 3 friends coming from behind me ,all was on the club's from outside cameras and a shop nearby, from 5 angles and over 30 people saw i was attacked with no reason, i don't even know the guys. it was self defense ,no problem. but imagine that happening on the sidewalk with no witness and the other 3 guys runing to police saying i was the attacker. eh? how can u escape that..in USA were there are private prisones and they need many people in to get more money, in a situation like that you are totaly fucked.self defense?who cares, no witness, we need money, you are fucked.pack your things and lets go:). also i have 2 friends in prison for having sex with a girl and she agreed, we were at the table speaking about what we gona do that night, we gave her 100 euro for 1 hour nothing more, BUT they did a mistake: they went out to eat first and she drank 2 glasses of vodka and got really drunk as she wasn't so used to drinking. she got pregnant and 4 weeks later ,afraid of what her parents may say, she went to the police and complaint a rape..she called as witness the club bartender that saw her get drunk and said the guys made her drunk and instead of sending her home, they took her at their place and she doesnt remember what hapend but wake up naked and her body was hurting, etc, all bullshit. were are they now? 15 years in jail and 10.000 euro to pay as moral damage.so nice eh? so about "best advice is to avoid prison to begin with" ...rather "pray you are lucky enough not to be in a fight in your most unlucky day of your life" :).shit happens and american justice system seems made to get as many ppl in jail as posibile.

I can’t stand ignorant morons like you. Do you think anybody actually chooses to go to prison? How about the ones that get told on by their supposed friends? Or what about me I was not doing anything illegal and since I had a record I was charged for a stolen vehicle because I was overdue on a rental car I had in my name. Do you think I deserved to go to prison or didn’t try to avoid going? Go watch making a murderer on Netflix and tell me if you think that guy wasn’t avoiding prison when he got charged for rape and did over ten years wrongfully. I could list a million situations where someone is avoiding arrest but is unable to avoid prison. Stop being such a smart ass!

hey man, I went in on December 19th 2014 and was released this year on march 2017, I watched a few of your videos before I went in and now here I am commenting on your video haha, it really isn't too bad once you are released, after a month it feels like I never even was in prison, I can honestly say that I am a much more patient person and now have a very peaceful view on life, I used to hate the whole system of how the world worked, then I realised during my time in there that I shouldn't be focusing my energy towards the negative side, such as worrying about the people I knew on the outside doing things and living a much better life, but it wasn't about that at all, my mental health wasn't the best when I first went in, I was quite bad actually, abit quiet but going through hell on the inside, I'm glad I can finally move on, cheers :P

Love the advice. A note about the guard thing, and this was just my experience at county jail, I did have to talk to guard at one point because I had been held for six days without seeing a judge. So, at the advice of the group I was put into, I approached the guard giving them my ID number etc and trying to explain what was going on. But, I guess my point is, I had to bring somebody along with me, so in case somebody was curious as to why I was speaking to the guard, I had somebody else as my witness as to what was going down. That way their couldn't be any kind of assumptions.

Be careful about apologizing to certain types of people when you are not in the wrong. You may think it's going to de escelate a situation, and it may in the moment, but the other guy will know he shook you up, that you didn't stand your ground and that you are weak. The same goes for putting your hand out for a handshake in similar situtations. It's basically the same as a submissive dog that lies down and exposes its belly. It's dominance at its most primal level in there. I'm not saying you should be puffing out your chest, just don't act like a bitch.

    • @DexterHaven
      @DexterHaven 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Yeah, I can always tell when someone is over polite just because they can't fight. I'll even say "Never apologize more than once for the same offense." It is very weak and contemptible.

I agree to some point. However, putting out your hand doesn;t have to be a submissive move. It is all about the body language. If you are confident it only sends the message that it is up to them how this will go and that you are fine with both ways, but it is not worth it to you over this. It ends further BS talk, so the argument doesn't naturally evolves into something more. It escalates the situation immediately if he refuses and that is a decision he probably won't make. It might seem like prisoners can go apeshit over anything without any consequences, but that is not true. There still needs to be somewhat of a reason for violence that their friends approve of, because in prison troublemakers are disliked in general.

The first time was almost 20 years ago & I had to learn the hard way when a casino asks you to leave don't procrastinate too long because the charge is misdemeanor trespassing. The second time I spent the night in jail was for having a small amount of weed in my car before it was legal & I learned now if your using weed really try to obtain a medicinal cannibus medical card so you have more defenses to get off if you get into any legal trouble as opposed to not having a medical card it's easier for the prosecution to prosecute you for law violations.

They usually don’t put white collar, nonviolent offenders in with prisoners who committed very violent crimes/murderers. It obviously depends on the geographic location of where you are being charged, if there are multiple prisons, or if their prisons have different units/wings to divide the prisoners up depending on how dangerous they are. But if I embezzled some money, generally the guy next to me isn’t going to be a violent repeat offender with bodies on him.

Every lockup has its own personality. I got about four years all together, most of it in Louisiana in everything from little small town jails to parish prison farms to one of the big state camps, and there's a different vibe everywhere you go. There's not always a big race divide but in the bigger places there are always cliques that do hold to that shit. In jails and smaller farms, and when you stay in a dorm setting instead of individual cells, one person can change a whole atmosphere of a place for good or bad. One thing I feel needs saying, if you don't have somewhat of a backbone before you go in, a decent set of nuts on you, don't try to fake it, you better grow a pair for real, but you don't have to be the biggest badass on the block. There's a middle of the road where you got enough respect and carry yourself well and the mostly only ones that will mess with you is some two bit punk trying to take their rep up a notch themselves, and those are almost without fail just talk that they can't really back up.

Good advice. I see a lot of people commenting on things like ; "if you don't want to do that time, don't do the crime". But that's not necessarily true. Even a misdemeanor offence can still carry out a maximum of a 2 year prison sentence. Canada switched to super prisons where everyone is put in blocks of 30 people no matter what the crime and mixed violent and non-violent offenders. A few people that were sentenced to weekends or 90 days were beaten to death by violent offenders. There is a protest going on to bring back the separation of minimum-medium- and maximum offenders as well as violent and non violent offences. I truly believe in separation between all offences will help everyone, the corrections or "prisons" were created to rehabilitate one to re-enter society, not put in a cage to be beaten to death.

That was fun, 5'5" and constantly having to practice wu shu on people who thought I should be their bitch.
    No compensation nor apology.
When I finally forced the CPS to hand over their file by petitioning a judge to force disclosure, the case got thrown out. The dossier was literally empty.

@@whysoserious2564 If conditions for release aren't met, release dates can be messed with I believe, so I can agree on that point. But imprisonment without charge sounds like kidnap or internment if we're being generous. Something that Britain (and other countries) have allowed at times in the past but I'm fairly sure that if / when allowed it's intended to be a temporary measure (that's not to say it won't itself get abused and be used longer than it was initially set out to be), an extraordinary measure for very dangerous times. World wars spring to mind, here. I'm fairly sure there's not been one of those for seventy odd years though so I can not see any circumstances where someone would be imprisoned without charge these days (mental health sectioning being an obvious exception, of course, where strict medical criteria / procedures are followed instead). It's got to be bollocks what michel wrote or he lived in some tinpot nation when it happened to him (ie. not the UK). I'm guessing he'll not comment further on the subject now he's made his unbelievable claim with nothing to corroborate it. Reminds me of the guy I once knew who claimed he was related to the Queen and that aliens had put a sim card up one of his nostrils to enable them to communicate with him. Tony Muir some places have gangs which will force you to tell what you are in for, if you are a child rapist they will find out (Shaun went into more detail on how easy it is) and if you don’t tell, you could get beat as some gangs will automatically assume someone who doesn’t say what their in for as a child molester.

Tony Muir Shaun mainly does that to raise awareness about how fucked the Arizona prisons were and maybe still are. You should watch some of his past videos.

Shaun Atwood, I always wondered how the prison population looked at pimps or guys arrested for merely living off the avails of proustiton? Are they treated like pedophiles or sex offenders? Are they k.o.s??

+christine9090 when i see.pimps in jail i know 90 percent of the time they scared of a real man i usually turn them into my sissy boy befor turning them.out for packs of soup because they are used to that kind of work and they are easy to handle when i need to make my life more comfortable in jail i look for a pimp to step on and take advantage of cuz they know its gods karma at work and unless they want there girl to know they got there shit pushed in they will do whatever

You have to be aware this guy is trying to get national geographic to run him on their show about prison and he's in the process of writing several books ...in order to aquire a substantial amount of financial gain and national credibility. There's a saying in life...nothing is what it seems. That is a very true statement. You don't have to believe me but I'm telling you this guy is playing on the gullibility of the public and also he is telling the public what he thinks they want to hear. But hey if you people in the public want to be decieved there's nothing I'm going to do to stop it. So you can defend this guys videos all you want but real prison life is a highly complex set of ever changing variables that are not determined either way by preexisting notions of any particular given event in prison. Every person and every situation is highly unique in it's circumstances and possibile outcomes. An isolated event or two in prison does not accurately and mathematically describe the intrinsic working of everyday prison life and should not be broadcasted as such especially when their is not sufficient opposing ideas within the theory of prison life. Quite frankly I get bored very easily with this subject but can only wish the public would not be so naive and would learn how to think for themselves. But of course if that happened this world would dramatically improve overnight. Oh well...on with this British man's I'll witted descriptions and loose theories of prison life that the public is so eager to believe.

Prisons used to make money for states-mainly through farming the surrounding area. The prisoners were taken out at daybreak and worked until sunset. They got outside and were too busy and tired from the work to cause problems. Work and industry along with being outside helped many de-pressurize. They got to see the literal fruits of their efforts and the produce grown was used to feed the prison and the extras were sold at profit to the prison itself.
A relative who used to be a guard at Leavenworth took me to the old prison cemetery. I asked what the stones with 'Meatball' and 'Meatball II' written on them were-they were headstones for the mules the prisoners used to farm with. They grew so attached to the animals they buried them with headstones and genuinely felt grief for them as it was the closest thing to pet they could have.
Violent offenders beyond all hope of reform should be kept busy and not allowed much free time to plan their next hit or organize their own gangs. They are predators that do nothing but take advantage of the 'humane' punishment the state doles out which has become a joke. Non-violent offenders shouldn't even be sent to the same prison-and drugs should just be legalized and a huge chunk of population, black market money, and gang money would disappear but 'the war on drugs' which we've spent trillions will never go away.
