I'm an OU fan. My father told me that back in the day, he loved the Nebraska OU games. They were his favorite rivalry. He was really pissed when Nebraska left the Big 12 because of that. I hope you guys get back into form...

Exactly. Gone to hell and hand bag when they left the conference. Had a hell of a rivalry btw Neb v Okla. going back decades. The decisions that screwed over the program were made years ago. You reap what you sew. As well Neb was just getting ready to start a rivalry with Texas and now that is gone. Texas a team even more hated than Okla.

Agreed. He wanted to win more than anything. The man was disrespected by the local media and the fans continuously.
He was the last championship quarterback that the school has had he deserved to be treated better on his way out. Who cares what he's getting paid ...he didn't succeed and he's going to live with that the rest of his life and not be happy about it.
I don't appreciate Sam's comments and he's going to be perfectly fine. That's a low blow and kicking a man when he's down. Okay, he didn't work out as a coach. He deserves more respect and courtesy as a former player who sweat and bled for the school.

Erick Chinander has some audacity in not immediately resigning.....the defensive sword was the largest,, most impactful of all the swords Coach Frost eventually fell upon.. I am not hearing ANYONE, yet, start taking responsibility for historically terrible defenses on Chinanders watch! Up until this year, Coach Frost entrusted Chinander nearly lock, stock, and barrel to lead the defense with very,, very,, very,, little oversight while he did his thing with the offense....ala Coach McBride and Coach Osborne. All Chinander did was take good athletes, hamstring the their athleticism with pillow soft,, untenable defensive schemes that didn't work at UCF and clearly aren't working in Lincoln, and take zero responsibility! Nobody has been more supportive of Coach Frost than I.....he and Big Grant are my two favorite Huskers ever. However, after that loss on sacred Tom Osborne Field (reminded me of sitting in Memorial Stadium watching them lose to Souther Miss during the Callahan years) given every opportunity a program can give a Head Coach, yes, I agree that he had to be fired. Again, the fact that Chinander has not accepted any real responsibility for historically horrific defenses contributing to all of the losses despite haveing good talent and not resigned immediately revels, to me, a significant character flaw. I posted the following a few times since his hiring that Mickey Joseph would, soon, be a head coach...very impressive man. I did not, however, believe that his first gig would be now........
2018 the defense allowed an average of 34.3 points per conference game.
2019 the defense allowed an average of 30.0 points per conference game.
2020 the defense allowed an average of 29.3 points per conference game.
2021 the defense allowed an average of 26.5 points per conference game.
2022 the defense is allowing an average of 31 points per game

They gave Frost a sweetheart deal on the way out. The school could've easily waited until Oct. 1 to give him his buyout. The season is lost and Frost's job was already dead to rights once the season ended, so I'm not sure what Nebraska accomplished by getting rid of him now when they could've paid him less to exit the program later. We're only three weeks into the season, so it's not like a coaching search will begin immediately. If I'm Nebraska, I'd consider hiring some young NFL assistant who's willing put up with recruiting and the TP and wants to take on the challenge of restoring a tarnished program.

    Disappointed with Sam here..
Between you and your much too long microphone from the '70s and you're angry video post game soapbox moments. Take a breath and relax dude. You've had a narrative that you've been pushing for years and I'm sure you're happy that he's gone. This approach since the early 2000s to just simply fire guys and try to plug another guy in there doesn't work but that's the culture we have since 2000 as a society thinking it's a video game button and you can just hit it reset and it doesn't work that way in real life. The Tom Osborne's and Nick saban's of the world have only a few left with Nick approaching 80.
I've been really disgusted by the fan behavior of anyone under the age of 35 who has never seen the successful years. I'm so disappointed with our fan base. The last two decades. We are not the best fans. We are the ones that eat their young and local media is part of that.

Ron Brown should see the door as well. His phony "Come to Jesus" meetings after the game--when all great schools group their players, fans and band together for a group cheer and alma mater--is just embarrassing--did you watch Ohio State--magnificent!!!!. It's also and insult to fans, who are marginalized, and all the players who might not be as 'Jesusy" as him. It's always been inappropriate at midfield of a state university and needs to stop.

Up until yesterday, he didn't seem exactly happy to run the ball. Yesterday, even though he ran well every time. But he gets hurt easily. And it showed. Again, not bagging on Casey, he did his thing. But, seriously, that's just not enough. Too many Martinez Moments. Since we're changing coaches, maybe it's time to develop a quarterback for the future. Of course Casey will start. But bring on Chubba Purdy for some reps. After not even practicing this spring, Chubba came in looking better than Anyone else. Run, pass guy. Then you have 3 able other quarterbacks sitting there waiting. Heinrich Harbour is the Joe Burrow NU passed on.
And fellas, this is just one example. Frost was just a bad judge of his personnel. Wandel Robinson ring a bell?

His buyout alone equates to more than 200X the average annual income of a normal family. Can we PLEASE stop feeling bad for Scott. He failed and was paid handsomely for it. * A dismal showing for 2.5 qtrs against ND before suddenly turn on the burners. It would be to obvious to lose but you could get Trev really hot.
      * Then make a 1st coach look like Saban in the GASO game.
Trev is, at least on the outside, blowing the money off bec the booster paid for it. Remember this day 3 yrs from now when Neb starts moaning about needing money. From 2018/19 the athletic dept only cleared 12 million.

It was clear Trev was smart enough to have a really thorough Plan B in place in the event of Scott Frost being fired. Also, the paid buyout is eye opening because that tells us all that there is a very serious wealthy booster (or two) that wants to see NU get this coaching hire right by getting on top of it asap. Don’t be mistaken, NU has boosters that will pay king’s ransom for the incoming coach, whoever that is.

Nebraska is still living in the '70s and '80s mentality. They couldn't live with "mediocrity" Frank Solich gave them...so they fired him. Since it's been quite the dumpster fire. Truth is their historic reputation is built on pounding mediocre Big 8 competition and unimaginative offensive football with a large dash of 'roids thrown in. Look at how many renowned Neb players...collegiate award winners were total busts in the NFL. I'm talking historic perspective here...Nebraska just isn't what it ONCE was. Urban Meyer would be a great fit for deluded Husker fans.

he also took a dump with his team. He failed at Youngstown st and his return to LSU as a defensive coordinator. he took whatever job was available. back to being the head coach's Bi$ch. lol.

Once again, Frost will depart NU on top. 16 million. Frost can now retire totally secure. However, it's probably a good decision. There's just too much talent on this team to lose this way.

A somewhat bright day in a somewhat dark year for Nebraska Football. Good Luck. Go Buckeyes.

For the first time in nearly 5 years I am now hopeful for the future. I thought Frost would be a winner here.. he was a historical loser
Realize errors and fix them then move on to the new coach.

Trev needs to say NOT SO FAST and investigate if Scott threw the game. Think about it. Scott knew he was on very thin ice. How could he make 7.5 million more. Lose badly from a standpoint of how much they were supposed to win by and to whom. Scott threw this game.

Is this a replay from the corncob sodomy story? The pain, the anger it never goes away. Did you get bushwhacked by Lil Red or was it Herbie Husker?

Thank you Scott for being the man at Nebraska..you got a raw deal while most likely becoming the next Lincoln Riley..you took a program that wasn’t very good when you took over and everyone wanted you to succeed right away. Shame on Nebraska for what they did to you..let’s see what the next coach does
