That looks like the model my mom bought in the late 70s. She gave it to me about 1985 but it had developed problems by that time. Thanks for posting.

I have the same model. Great unit that records all information from vinyl. Easy to work on too

As I may have said, I have one of these models but I haven't been doing any reels lately. It's a great unit.

I spent about 20 euros on the transistors and capacitors, really nog that expensive. The Pause control doesn't need to be oiled, but you can check if the grease on the turning points of the mechanism hasn't gone to goo. Some new grease (no oil!) there wouldn't be a bad idea. Don't mess with the brakes, they're hard to get adjusted properly. The capstan motor can use some oil after all the years (there is a oil reservoir felt-piece underneath the metal cover plate on it's back).

Kun je mij misschien helpen door te vertellen waar je de transistors en capacitors vandaan hebt?

It might be the forward/reverse switch that switches over the rec/play head in reverse. It's behind the head assembly on a metal plate. Try cleaning that using contact cleaner or something. Also, the big rec/play switch on the audio board might be dirty.

I wonder if there was an American and a European version made. I have a GX-210D. But mine doesn't have the 50/60 Hz change button and the VU meters are white instead of black.

Tips? Ik ken er (duidelijk) niet veel van. :-)

Thanks very much for taking the time to explain how this tape recorder operates. Bought it at a thrift store (which I don't recommend) and was fairly cognizant of the operation. One thing I'm curious about is the switch in back of the machine which is labeled "high" and "low". What is the purpose of this switch? I am also getting a hum from the auto-reverse position. When it is playing in the reverse position there is a hum in the left channel. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if you still need the information, but this is from the operator's manual regarding the round DIN jack: "When recording from an external amplifier, if the output level of your amplifier is high, set the High/Low switch to HIGH position, and if the output level is low, set to LOW position".

My Akai x200d is very noisy from the Capstan Motor on 19cm and the Right Channel sometimes gets Noisy in Record or is very quiet in Reverse...
