    Sir, will changing fertiliser (in a no-CO2 scape) from apt zero to complete cause algae issues & stress for plants? If yes, then how do we control/minimize such effects?

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870
      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not advisable to give APT Complete in a tank without CO2 injection. Please continue with APT Zero

    Have you used ADA green bacter plus and saltyshrimp leaves extract with it? What is canister filter used most important?what was the initial light timing setup, have you increased it gradually with intro of APT 3?introduced algae eater and fish in 1.5 months?dragon stone looks good quality not leaching carbonate I thing.

      Good observations as well as questions. No we did not use the Salty Shrimp product. We relied on Super Pour and ADA Bacter balls. Yes we did use ADA Green Bacter, forgot to mention that completely. Also extremely sorry to have forgotten about the filter - we were using an OASE Biomaster 250 in this aquarium. Dragon stone do not leach Carbonate as far as our knowledge goes, at least not in this case :)

    I was told by the aquarium store where I bought it to soak the Master Soil for a week before using it to avoid an ammonia spike. You say there was no noticeable ammonia spike. Do you think it's safe to put fish in straight after installing Master Soil?

      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry for the late response. Keeping the soil soaked is a very old concept. You see this was relevant when soils like ADA Amazonia had a very high ammonia content. Now a days all soils including ones from ADA or Master soil does not have that high levels of ammonia. But in any case even with low levels of ammonia the overall environment needs to stabilize. The full nitrogen cycle to get established takes about 1 to 2 weeks if you are using a good nitrifying bacteria. So it is preferable to put in livestock after say 2 weeks irrespective of what soil is being used. In case you are using garden soil or complete DIY this time should be much longer

    Sir, for Anubias Nana Gold and Java fern 6500 Kelvin light is mandatory?
    My Newly set up tank is 5 *1.5*1.5 feet. No soil. Only Anubias and Java fern with lava rocks and drift wood. I am confused about light. I don't want to use Co2. Want to keep it low tech. Will you suggest whether 4 feet 6500 K light will good for these plants. I am. using two top power filters and two sponge filters currently. Will you please suggest the lighting requirement please for non Co2 bare bottom setup.

      Kelvin by itself does not define a good light needed for planted aquariums, it's the spectrum and CRI which are more important, in our opinion. For the aquarium that you are wanting to setup and as there are no CO2 it is advisable to go with a low light, one which gives more on the red spectrum and less on the Blue side. Having said that there are some mistakes that you are doing, it would be good if you can come down to our gallery and we can discuss in details

    Sir a quick question, is this soil suitable for a non co2 planted tank? And am i better off going with something that's a little more nutrient rich like aquario neo soil or denerelle soil ?

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870
      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a definitely a good soil for any type of planted aquarium - Non CO2 or CO2 enriched. I have no idea about Neo, but definitely Dennerle is good soil (you can check this video (th-cam.com/video/dYV3nVNELro/w-d-xo.htmlsi=68Jj0t5O_zbGz0ON)
