Watching from the beginning….again. I love seeing your personal growth from Japan to the North Pole. Kara keeps getting braver and braver and Nate gets more comfortable being on camera. I just love the evolution of the two of you and your channel.

I was fortunate enough to attend your 100th Trip fest in Nashville last weekend, and I am now watching all 707 videos...from the start. What I can say right now is that I am thoroughly enjoying viewing them and absolutely adore the interaction between the two of you. You are both funny, loving, forgiving and outgoing that it makes me glad to have had the opportunity to meet and greet you both in Nashville and have our photo taken. So I finally decided to just watch all the vlogs from the beginning. So far the best part is when she says "you take the biggest bite." I seriously choked on my water. I mean duh. Have you seen his mouth! That giant smile is like half of the reason I watch your vlogs! You two are so much fun!

I've been following you two for a few weeks now and I just really enjoy your vlogs! You two are great! So I finally went back to your first ones, when "baby Nate and baby Kara" got started. Fun and cute, but it helps me appreciate how much there must be to learn this craft.
When you were at the capsule hotel, didn't you find it ironic that the people remove their shoes to enter the hotel, but smoke cigarettes everywhere? Haha.

The anime part had me laugh so hard. I watch anime, yet when you both saw THAT side of anime I said out loud, " Oh no!" 🤣
You never drink/eat while walking in Japan; you eat/drink right outside the convenience store and then throw away your trash right there. Japan is incredibly neat and nobody litters, but there aren't any trashcans except outside of the convenience store. Kara walking with that cup for over an hour is hilarious!
The "dumpling" is called nikuman (sp?). Basically a steamed bun with pork inside. Yum!

Your vids are such a kick! But, I have trouble with the extreme ups and downs of the volume. Low talk and whispering, then switching to blasting music. Just a thought...

Having RE-Re-re-rewatched your videos this is where I want to jump on the screen and say “ Turn around! Seriously turn around!!) TheseJapan videos are like watching someone step in front of a truck in slow motion. You would love Japan as more experienced travelers but this video is What NOT to do. Between the 7/11’s, capsule hotel and who goes to Sumo when it starts? You MUST revisit Japan but not until 2022
Well there's a couple reasons why they have already explained. They didn't have much money then and has to budget. The only reason why they traveled so much is "travel hack"
Their spending limit per day back then was like $75 US for everything...so capsules and conbini it was. They enjoyed it never the less and I think if that is what you must do for 24 7 experiences all over the world it is well worth it!

You guys are finally in my fave part of Tokyo! Started going to Japan when I was more into anime and manga and Akihabara was my fave place to explore. Yodobashi Camera is my fave store in the area and I never get tired of looking around. Eaten at several of the places on the 8th floor too. The Mandarake store you went into is one of the most popular places to buy stuff.

2:31 There are two reasons for the lack of thrash cans in Tokyo (and most of Japan for that matter). The first is cultural. Japan is a collectivist culture obsessed with the notion of not inconveniencing others. They're also a very clean culture. So the concept of littering is considered a grave offense, and it is actually common practice to take your garbage home with you even if there is a public thrash disposal available.
The second is security related. In 1995 a deadly Sarin attack hit the Tokyo Metro caused by a religious doomsday cult. The attack was orchestrated by leaving small punctured packets of Sarin on a number of train lines. In the aftermath the Japanese government was scared shitless of other terrorist organisations leaving nerve agents or explosives hidden in plain sight, so most of the thrash cans in the country were removed, particularly in Tokyo. The few that remain are see-through for a reason. But even before that there were far less thrash cans in Japan than in Western countries.

Watching from the start. You've probably heard this before by now, but the "dumpling" you ate isn't specifically Japanese. It's a Chinese steamed bun called "bah-pau", which literally translates as "meat bun" :) There's also a similiar thing called "baozi" which looks more like a dumpling, that is also chinese; Japanese people eat a lot of Chinese foods :)

In Japan they're called Nikuman! They're the japanified bao. They usually change up the flavors a bit but they're very much just like Chinese Bao

I also "lost" my ticket (probably didn't take it out of the machine). The attendant (through a translator machine) just asked where I started my journey, and then deducted that amount from my card. It was so nice and easy. In the US, they would charge you the full amount.

Normally if you used a ticket to get in, they just let you go out

I remember binging from the start back in 2017 around the time they were current day on the trans Siberian. Its neat to revisit these and awe at how far this channel has grown in base and content.
