"I do like him but I can't trust him" is a perfect description of Daemon's character lmao
Interesting that the woman of the group is the one that picked up on Rhaenara being into her uncle before that scene happened, the way she was playing with the necklace and the way she looks at him, I also noticed it so when*that* happened I wasn’t surprised! 😅
I noticed when he said: "you've matured as well" then she sort of blushed and looked away
Its obvious from episode 1, she just pays better attention than a lot of the normie crew in general. Same with Rana.
I sensed the chemistry between them from their first interaction back in episode 1
I kinda picked up on it. But that's mainly from all the Cersei and Jaime stuff.
What's interesting is that Viserys noticed the way she was waiting for Daemond in the court in the begining.
Best move Rhaenyra could make would be to drink the Moon Tea, but then smash the bottle to make it look like she was deeply offended by the lack of trust and didn't take it.
That’s pretty smart but wouldn’t they realize that there is no drink with the smashed bottled?
@@rinmartell2678 she could fill it with another liquid then smash it
@@kovicriei better hope that other liquid has the same color, taste, and odor
@@jjmmm515 I mean I doubt someone would taste it off the floor
Moon tea can have some pretty bad effects, especially if made improperly. Its likely they would know of she took it or not.
Honestly, even though i missed the whole group, this smaller setting really allowed for everyone to get some good discussion and banter during and after the episode.
Yeah some of the hilarious tangents they went on, like the Pornhub incest conversation that they seriously discussed, would not have happened with the whole group.
i agree i actually really liked this couch and reaction!
I agree. That’s why I only watch small group reaction.
For me what makes The Normies unique from a lot of other reactors is the fact that they can have a big group on the couch and they have great discussions afterwards together as a group. While I totally understand everyone has a life outside of this channel and maybe not all of them are full timers, for event shows like HoD, I would rather they postpone their reaction until everyone is back than just doing it with a number of key members missing. They can easily have a more in depth discussion with just two or three members on their podcast afterwards.
It's because the one that talks too much isn't mixed in with 5 other reactors so they were able to actually know what going on in the episod.
To add to the discussion at 29:00, siblings are more related (50%) than uncles/aunts and nieces/nephews (25%). However, for the Targaryens, Daemon and Rhaenyra would be MORE related to each other than typical uncle-niece relationships because the Targaryens have had previous incestuous relationships.
Hey I’m sure everything’s totally fine, nothing bad comes out of incest in Westeros 🚬
Yeah, Viserys' and Daemon's parents were siblings, and Viserys's first wife Aemma was his cousin
Geneticist here: Siblings are anywhere from 0%-100% related. Parents are approximately 50% related. Uncles and Aunts can be anywhere from 0%-50% related.
I mean it's not just the incest, it's the fact that Daemon saw Rhaenyra grow up. He groomed her.
If real life rules applied all Targaryens would be incredibly fucked up and inbred, medieval European royalty wasn't even close to being that inbred, so it's pointless to even think about it, other than to say magic keeps their genes in check lol
I don’t think Daemon wanted to wed Rhaenyra only for the crown, I think he loves her and his feelings comes before his desires for the chair.
Yay someone that pays attention to the show.
I think it's hard to tell for now. Love...ehh. Attraction and interest, defenitely. But right now, it seems as though he's in it for the crown. The switch up was just so sudden and not too mention that his words towards rhanerya were defenietely giving grooming vibes
@@elenawestley8224 If you had paid attention more, you would’ve known that he’s attracted to her.. also Rhaenyra played with her necklace that Daemon gave her when she was meant to choose someone as her husband.
@@CarloRodriguez10 I just said definitely for attraction and interest. it's too soon to call it love from him.
@@elenawestley8224 we’ll see
Like Viserys said it's about perception. At this point it doesn't matter what did or didn't happen, they need to do everything they can to secure this marriage alliance.
right, but why would velaryion take a "ruined" "none maiden". bad writing.
@@lyrilljackson Because it's still a good alliance and well, in the books, Laenor Velaryon had certain reputation...(SPOILERS)
It's heavily implied Laenor didn't like women, kinda like Renly and Loras
@@hectormiranda1088 it's not about what he likes or not even if that somehow "works" as a play pretend marriage. it's that the others already know. or that's how the narrative is all fussing about.
@@lyrilljackson didn't you listen to daemon? Marriage is just a political arrangement! Velaryons wouldn't care about rhaenira's lost virginity as they are making the best, purest and powerful match ever.
@@lyrilljackson No, it's largely because in a time where who your parents were matters massively, having a wife who has known other men outside of marriage and may know more even inside of marriage is seen as a bad thing, as theoretically any of her children in marriage MAY be bastards. This is the cultural reason westerosi oppose "sullied" women, more so than men, (in tandem with garden variety sexism). Fortunately for rhaenyra, laenor doesn't care about that much for his own reasons.
Daemon tagged the ship against the dude who knocked him off his horse in front of his niece/ crush. He knew who her bodyguard was. He tagged that ship as a clap back. 👏🏽
or hes an idiot who risked hurting his niece for no real reason
Daemon had it planned, when he took off rhaenyra's hat so that people inside that house would see and recognize them. but haflway there he stopped and bailed for some other "purer" reasons i think. and Otto was really not spying on Rhaenyra, the info came upon his doorstep but the consequences from the weight of that said info have not gone in his favor.
He stopped because he could not keep it up, and because he was surprised she was so into it. This is what the show runner said on the after show.
@@Traceymc937 oh, didnt stick around for the post credit. hm thanks
@@Traceymc937 that's just a shoehorned take by the showrunners. I don't know why people can get along with Daemon's supposed impotency when he's a known man-whore, had lots of women and will have more lovers and future children. But inclusivity i guess.
He felt guilt and that made his friend sad… I guess you could say it like that. He couldn’t get it up BECAUSE he knew he was doing something wrong and he also got surprised she was so into it.
taht was just pure pussytease.
What I love is the constant parallels between Daemon and Rhaenyra (and it's in every ep) and development of both characters
In this one they both schemed, played games but also you can see emotions for each other. Powerful duo no doubt
Navi was on point about the interpretation between Viserys/Alicent and Daemon/Rhaenyra as well as Rhaenyra's feelings for Daemon. It's always been clear that Rhaenyra's feelings for Daemon are slightly romantic. She was playing with her necklace that he gave her at the beginning while meeting with suitors. Also, in episode 2 she wanted to prevent bloodshed but she knows that even if Otto and the King's men were killed by Daemon, Viserys would have no choice but to start a war with Daemon which would end in his death. Daemon could not beat Viserys' entire army plus the other dragons they have in the pit. While the sex content was heavy it was important to see women enjoying it and not just like Alicent. Also so far, y'all are the only reactors who caught Mysaria's interaction with that kid. I'm thinking Daemon arranged it with Mysaria but Daemon felt bad. Regardless, the rumor was created which could have been enough.
After seeing Daemon and Viserys were getting along again I actually thought this was gonna be lighter, but this is the HEAVIEST episode of the series yet. The director of the episode Clare Kilner said that it was important when she was filming the sex scenes to shoot them from the right point of view. She said she wanted them to be from the woman's point of view where people were enjoying themselves and freeing themselves from the constraints of the world they'd been living in.
This episode was shockingly, this show keeps getting better and better.
Lol nah bro he loves his brother but he loves himself a bit more
The episode was great. Loved every minute of it.
I gotta say this show is turning out less r-pey than GOT.
(So far!!)
@@GgCashh451 😂

You Advocate incest??
Where's everyone? Cmon, this is the best ongoing series so far! So much of a great content have been missed guys 🥲
@Alimond I have been noticing that lately in the shows that we know are filmed on the day (this one, SheHulk and the Lord of the Rings) they have way less people than usual (Rana is being missing in videos like those for a few weeks now)...maybe some of them are taking days off or something...?
They are around for clone wars and anime but not this, when GoT is what got their channel off the ground. Its odd.
The Crown was Drift Wood. I lived by a beach for years, I’d recognize that sun bleached wood anywhere. And the proper crown for a Sea King.
Kings of Iron Islands also use driftwood crown. I think it's a good detail having unique features for crowns and thrones for various kings of the different kingdoms of the realm.
The small council kept getting smaller. In four weeks, it just going be the empty couch.
🙁
This should be their most especial and visited video , they should have planed this reactions better.
? she's not cupholding anymore. not sure why the rejected lannister is added. awkward
@@lyrilljackson This guy was talking about the reactors I assume, and Tyland Lannister is the new Master of Tides presumably, considering the Red Wine Fleet (the Lannisport fleet) is the 3rd largest in the realm, behind Corlys’s and the Crown’s.
@@lyrilljackson Thats not Jason Lannister, thats his twin brother who was already on the council by Aegon's 2nd namr day though Im not sure if he was there before epsisode 3.

Sucks , HOD is not being treat with love.
I love The Normies and appreciate Suraj, Navi and Pat making it on the couch, but in general, they are really so bad at vacation timing. Feels like half the crew is always gone during the best episodes of any show. 😂
@@josecanal7556 what?
Honestly, this was a great crew for this episode. I appreciate the big crowd for more hype episodes, but for one like this, that was a little more intimate let's say, I think I like a smaller group.
@@Ebosan87 a larger group is fine, a few key people in the group have just gotten really bad the last year of trying to fill ever moment of empty air with inane commentary and that's the actual issue not the group size. Compare their videos this year vs the expanse reactions.
This is one of my favourite reactions from the guys. No shouting and screaming and shit jokes. Navi really calms the guys down and the discussion was great. You’re a great Trio to watch, I hope you three do the rest of the series together.
What a really great show. I never thought I’d be interested in anything GoT again but this brought me straight back.
The guy the kid killed was from house bracken. The kid was from house blackwood. The brackens and blackwoods have a rivalry that stretches back from before aegon the conquerer and are basically always waging a private war against each other, even during GoT
Bro matt smith needs his Emmy dammit he is literally carrying this show dude it killing it every episode
He’s good but he’s not carrying this show. Paddy Considine and Milly Alcock are killing it as well
I think the whole cast is doing a great job with special props to the main Targeryian family.
Bro wtf , he isn't killing shit , all the performances have been average . None of them can match peter dinklage or lena headey.
He's great, but an orchestra needs all its instruments. I know I'm gonna miss Otto's machinations as the Hand.
This show needs more Strongs, they're my favorite family so far and they only show us glimpses of them.
@@lucifermorningstar6302 You're still salty about Morbius, I can tell.

A classic trope in movies and TV was used in this episode. The trope of someone who is normally deceitful (Otto Hightower) finally is telling the truth but then they aren't believed. But I think it worked really well here.
"when did the targaryens stop the marriage between siblings?" never
sometimes they would marry for political advantage like Daeron I who married a woman from Dorne and that was finally what made Dorne get into the seven kingdoms. or when they didn't have any siblings they would also marry outside of the family.
but the Mad King was married to his sister Rhaella and Daenerys was expect to marry Viserys. So they never stopped

The King knows and even said they have “Targaryen” Blood. He knows “anything goes” is the Targaryen’s original words😂So just in case...
Daemon and Rhaenyra really got Otto fired by having fun around the city 😭😂
P.S Navi is a whole mood here 👏🤭
Dont put it like that. Otto's goals are just not in line with the king's. He can say that he is loyal til his mouth falls off, no one with any brains cells left believes he isnt gonna undermine the queen to be. He would be an idiot if he WASNT undermining her position. He lost his title in a good way, "youve done decently, thanks for your service but you have conflicts of interest go8ng forward, be retired with honor".

They're on a schedule. Delays mean everything else gets postponed. consistency is key on TH-cam
They have about a hundred other cartoons to react to. You can't really expect them to make room for grown up shows, when that's not their main demographic. The Normies is (and has been) a kids reaction channel for years now.

She wanted Daemon all the way it was never once in her face when she felt/looked scared or anything she was super comfortable with him and it's just what she wanted
"Matt Daemon" had me dyyyyying. Loved this reaction, and of course Navi's insight on a lot of the Rhaenyra/Daemon stuff as the woman in this group.
House of the Dragon bring in insane numbers for their channel compared to other shows and they be getting the smallest crews for it lol
Yeah they care about the view counts not the quality of the reaction. They'd rather get it out asap than coordinate getting a lot of the crew there.
@Darkstar I will
This episode is a great example of how adult themes, taboo and drama with sex can be done right, when the scenes and sequences are motivated and illustrate the themes and character development. Director did a sterling job.
Exactly
The tunnel she used was connected to the tunnel Tyrion asked Jamie and Cersei to use during Dany's incursion, but the exit was unfortunately caved in. I love how we get an expanded view of the Red Keep, things feel the same but "Bigger", I appreciate the attention to detail and the scale of everything. They're knocking it out of the park!
In the after the episode the show runner said Daemon was impotent when he began to realize what he was doing and began to feel powerless.
That's just a shoehorned take by the showrunners. I don't know why people can get along with Daemon's supposed impotency when he's a known man-whore, had lots of women and will have more lovers and future children. But inclusivity i guess.
They just softened the scene to lessen the incest controversy. Daemon did took Rhaenyra's maidenhood, at age 15, and the discreet meetings wasn't an only one time thing.
@@soulscyther666 I just assumed it was just this particular situation and not a frequent thing. They introduced the idea in the first episode.
The idea is just distraction while having sex. Imagine thinking of grandma while having sex. Instant impotence! 😂
The kid at the start is from house Blackwood and the guy he killed is from house Braken. These two families (both from the Riverlands) have been feuding since the time of the First Men and its still going on, im really happy they brought them into the show this early even if its just a quick cameo.
Classic gripping GoT episode that has your attention with no action set-pieces! Looked like Daemon set it up knowing Otto's 'little birds' would report what they thought 'happened' back to him!
I assumed he planned it with "white worm". She wouldn't rat him out unless it was part of a scheme
Quite obviously. He took off her hat before they went into the place. Why?, so people could see and know that She went there with Him. God!, He's such a grey character.. he did all that but couldn't bring himself to do it with her. Also, that's why He didn't refute the allegation when Viserys asked.
@@fourth-dimensionalbeing9737 i keep reading how he "couldnt bring himself to fuck her" no. the point was never to fuck her. but to seduce her. to corrupt her. it's to make his niece be sex positive to ruin her reputation so most lords will never wed their sons to her. this will destabilise her position as heir to the throne if lords come together to denounce the "slut" as queen of westeros. daemon is fully aware of the politics of the time. and as a bonus, he wants her to be in love with him so she will choose to marry him instead. so it's a win-win for him. whether he is attracted to her is none of his concern. he will get the throne either way.

The older guy and the young kid were Houses Braken and Blackwood respectively, ancient bitter rivals from the Riverlands.
I find it hilarious that this show has people confused on how to feel about Daemon and Rhaenyra's "uncle and niece bonding time", what a time to be alive🤣
I kinda like that about Daemon, kinda makes him a bit unpredictable.. and also makes every scene with him interesting.
Only in GoT will we cheer on incest while feeling conflicted lmao............
3:57 The older one was from House Bracken and the little kid was of House Blackwood. both of the Riverlands. There has been a rivalry/feud between both Houses for years, glad the show gave a nod to that part.

i've missed navi so much, i'm glad she's becoming more of a mainstay again on the channel. 🥺
Damn this would’ve been an ideal episode for the whole crew! (I say that now who knows what next week will bring)
Funnily enough there used to be a contraceptive plant that Roman women would used, but it got used to extinction. Silphium.
the first scene is the fight between 2 houses. House blackwood(kid) and House Bracken(bully). The 2 houses are known to have a grudge/rivalry as old as the kingdoms. The kid is just obviously continuing an old family tradition: Killing a Bracken.
3:55 The kid from the beginning was from house Blackwood and the dude who talked shit was from house Bracken. Those two houses have been feuding for literally thousands of years. Like the Starks, they've been around since the Age of Heroes, before the wall was built, before the Children were slain, before the Seven. And they HATE eachother. We actually met a Blackwood in GOT, a really important character, but I don't know if that's a spoiler for a future series.
About the first scene in Storm's End, where the little Blackwood (black crows over a white tree on red) child courtier kills the Bracken (red horse on yellow). The Blackwoods and the Brackens are ancient houses from the Riverlands, sworn to House Tully. They have a blood feud going back centuries, and hate each others' guts. I like that they added their feud on screen, they are somewhat prominent in the ASOIAF books. The Brackens are shown to be boisterous and loud, fond of drink, food and sex, and are a bit thick, quite stubborn and headstrong; whereas the Blackwoods are proud and mysterious, but equally hardheaded and quick tempered. :)
Nice episode and reaction Normies!
Happy to see other Houses in this episode! Dondarrion, Blackwood, Bracken -
Can't wait for next week!
The fight with the kid at the start was a Blackwood and a Bracken. They are the two houses who hate each other most and are in permanent blood fued. They automatically end up on opposing sides of every war.
7:05 the moment pat realizes the girl sitting next to him is a wild one.
in the live street play scene one of the actors said "princeling three" so its been 4 years since she confronted him at dragon stone in episode 2

The white worm and daemon set this up,he just happened to take her(Rhaenyra)to a place where one of the little birds just happened to be hanging around outside?!
Removing her hat,was so that she would be recognised by everyone, reputation gone, daemon would then marry her.
While daemon was playing war, white worm became a source of information for Otto, and being paid well for it,as we noticed when the boy came to see her,to drop off the cash…but this time Otto got played big time,…does anyone remember when daemon returned, kneeling before his brother,he looked over towards Otto as if to say “I’m coming for you”
Yea not many reactors seemed to catch that.
Mysaria is working with Otto behind Daemons back.
The kid is a blackwood. He is the nephew of a very bold and gorgeous blackwood lady who will marry Cregan Stark later on the series. The one he killed was a Bracken and their houses are sworn enemies for centuries. The Blackwoods have power of sight similar to Bran. Blackwoods are loyal to the Starks. The white worm is Mysaria.

Young kid was a Blackwood, guy who called him craven was a bracken, two warring houses.... Bloodraven (creepy tree guy who taught bran in GoT) was a blackwood/Targaryen bastard -his half brother and enemy Aegor Rivers was a bracken/Targaryen bastard (also known as bittersteel) who was the founder of the golden company and a blackfyre supporter, which led to his banishment to the free cities. I saw the tea as Viserys saying "Don't know if you did, or if you didn't, don't really care. Take the get out of jail free card, don't fuck around again, and move on."
Alicent deserves a better friend. She defends Rhaeneryra from rumors yet the spoiled princess has the audacity to mock her for being baby-making queen.
This is one of the best discussions I've seen ☠️ Also if yall haven't check-out the making of for this episode. They talk about how this was ALL daemon's plan to get Otto fired. But didn't realize that Rhaenyra was DTF and it threw him off. Which is why he said that he DID have sex with her and wanted to marry her to restore her honor. Shit is wild and Daemon is stupid 🤦🏾♂️
Am I the only one who's main takeaway from this episode is Otto Hightower being punished for his honesty? The man did everything a good hand is supposed to do and it blew up in his face.
in Game of Thrones, it always starts off as a fun uncle/niece date...
Daemon couldn't "get up" in front of Rhaenyra and Viserys in this episode. Not that he has infertility issues as he will produce children including to you know who. But he has shown ED issues since Ep 1 with Mysaria.
Daemon marrying Rhaenyra actually makes a lot of sense and could prevent a civil war. He purposely wanted to be seen with her by removing their hoods. He wanted the rumors to spread and didn't deny the allegations. He just didn't go through with it feeling guilt or surprised Rhaenyra actually wanted to do it. Or perhaps he really does care about her and didn't want to be deceitful to her.
The twist for me is how much aware Viserys really is. He is no fool and is aware of Otto's social climbing like Daemon and Rhaenyra do. As Tyrone Magnus asked, why does Viserys fire Otto if he believes what he told him? Then Rhaenyra gets some abortion tea. So Viserys assumes it did happen or at least is aware Rhaenyra got deflowered and wants to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
Rhaenyra will eventually marry Laenor Velaryon, rider of Seasmoke, in the next episode. If you only knew the type Laenor prefers. Episode 5 will be the last time we'll see Milly Alcock and Emily Carey. The major time jump happens by Episode 6. I'm guessing Otto will try to poison Viserys since he recently got fired. He will push for Alicent to lay claim for Aegon. Once Viserys dies, the Dance of the Dragons begins. This means civil war.
Next week's episode has a fight breaking out and you see Criston fighting in the wedding. In the book, Criston is supposed to be with the Greens. If you see all the trailers, you can see an older Alicent looking back from a distance with Criston standing behind her. Hmmm.. What's really going on? Next week's episode is going to be crazy. I'm predicting Viserys dies. TV writers are altering some of the ages and timeline.
Otto always knew Daemon was a bigger threat than Rhaenyra being he's a male heir. That's why he ratted on him about the ”heir for a day" comment and kept Daemon away from his brother. You can see Otto's reaction when Daemon returned to King's Landing on Caraxes.
So if Daemon married Rhaenyra at least before Viserys dies, there would be no civil war. But nope. Viserys will banish Daemon again because of this rumor that Daemon took Rhaenyra's virginity. This leaves Viserys vulnerable like getting poisoned.
Will be easier to overtake Rhaenyra's claim being she is a woman. And Otto will only make it worse by stating how promiscuous Rhaenyra is. Daemon is just doing it wrong by pissing off Viserys. As the show runners said about Daemon in this episode, just when you think Daemon changed after 4 years, he doesn't. Same old Daemon.
Rhaenyra is not this innocent princess we are all assuming. What Daemon and Rhaenyra do in the later stages, your loyalty towards them will get tested. You might not like either one by the final season.
Many of them are grey characters which GRRM prefers. You will question some of their actions. These popular characters aren't written as Mary Sues and Gary Stus. They're extremely flawed.
The rumor actually hurts Rhaenyra more than Daemon because she is a woman. Daemon already has a bad boy reputation. It's the double standards that females still face today. If a man sleeps with a lot of women, they are praised. Called a stud or playa. If a woman sleeps with a lot of men, they get labeled promiscuous or called whores.
Rhaenyra just wanted to get her freak on. I'm actually all for it. Why can't a woman enjoy sex like a man? Otto will use promiscuity against her. Daemon seduces Rhaenyra but doesn't finish the job. So Rhaenyra ends up seducing Criston Cole. He became the King to her Narrow Sea 🍒.. 🤣
The final scene between Viserys and Rhaenyra was awesome. Viserys says, "The truth doesn't really matter. Only perception." Then Rhaenyra talks about the double standards between males and females when it comes to having sex. Viserys goes, "YOU are my political headache!"
I'm going to miss Paddy and Milly once they exit this show. Viserys really stood out again for me. Soft king? Sure. But good man and also a complicated one. Let's be real, Daemon and Rhaenyra do act like reckless brats and Viserys is juggling parenting between them.
If you watch Cobra Kai, Viserys is a lot like Amanda LaRusso. The only sane person in the show. The only one who acts like an adult and is trying to avoid conflict. But Daemon and Rhaenyra are rebels. They want excitement and drama. This will only lead to bloodshed.
It's pronounced Lay-nor. Like it's pronounced Ray-near-ah. Rhae = ray. Nyr = near. Day-men. Not Day-me-in or Day-mon as Mysaria says. The first syllable of Laenor rhymes with something. Hint..
Did Mysaria try to poison Daemon? He poured out the drink but still couldn't walk the next morning like he was high on Ecstasy. She hasn't probably seen Daemon in 3.5 years since Dragonstone.
Mysaria is nicknamed White Worm. She's been spying on Daemon for Otto. Mysaria is starting to become Shae of this series. So Daemon rides a Red Wyrm but gets spied by a White Worm.
We might finally see Lady Rhea Royce next week. She's not uglier than a sheep. I just don't know why Daemon can't stand being married to his Bronze B*tch? Viserys banished him back to the Vale.
We finally see Helaena. Alicent held her while she cried. Aemond and Daeron aren't born yet. Helaena is going to be involved in a conflict that might make you hate Daemon. The Viserys sex scene with Alicent looks like Aemond will be conceived.
The intercut is foreshadowing between uncle and nephew. Another foreshadowing is when we see an old woman ask Rhaenyra, do you want to forsee your death, child? We see flames for about 2 seconds before and after she asked.
If you never read the book or don't know how this all ends, you might hate the final season because it's not going to be very happy. This is no fairy-tale. Characters you've grown to love will not have a happy ending and I don't mean handjobs in massage parlors.
Otto might not be as smart as Littlefinger. He's actually making it so obvious which is why Viserys caught on. Otto was the one who told Viserys about Daemon's heir for a day comment and then Rhaenyra sleeping with his uncle. "Coupling" as he said.
If he keeps reporting bad news about them and not from a different messenger, wouldn't it be so obvious to Viserys what Otto's intentions are? Add the fact Viserys already caught on the moment Alicent walked into his room wearing her mother's dress.
Alicent doesn't even sleep in the same bed with Viserys. She's only used as a broodmare like what Tywin tried doing to Cersei and what Viserys is doing to Rhaenyra. Marriages and heirs are essentially business transactions. Love isn't required.
I don't believe Viserys loves Alicent the way he loved Aemma. He just sees Alicent as a means to an end. The end being producing heirs. That's his daughter's best friend for goodness sakes. He seems a lot more aware than how we perceived him intially.
Otto just keeps exposing himself to Viserys by being too obvious. Being negative towards Daemon and Rhaenyra. Suggesting Rhaenyra to marry his grandson. Viserys is proving he's no fool as his daughter pointed out.
It's interesting how religious Alicent is being part of the Faith of the Seven. Same one as Margaery who some of us compare her to. She hates incest. The irony once her kids grow up...
Episode 5 should get crazy. We'll see the second of three actresses portraying Laena next week. She should be about 16. We'll finally meet Daemon's "Bronze B*tch" who happens to be attractive but I guess Daemon hates forced marriage arrangements if no love is there.
I'm also wondering, is Rhaenyra pregnant from Criston? Did she drink that abortion tea? Isn't in the book, she produces bastard children initially? That's why someone on Reddit posted that the Greens have a point to their throne claims.
Could you believe it's only been four episodes, and we're talking about the best episodes from ASOIAF lore we've seen in over SIX years! We're not even halfway with Season 1. I hope we see Vhagar this season! I want Laena riding her years before Aemond does.
Funniest moment in Ep 4? Easily when that kid killed that dude who called him a dumb c*nt in The Bachelorette scene.. 🤣 It was so random and WTF like when Caraxes squashed that dude.
I will say I was glad the creators of the show said in the behind the scenes clip after the episode that what Daemon did to Rhaenarys was ABUSE.
Pat you're hilarious 😆"risk it for the biscuit"
Twins like Jamie and Cersei getting together is more "acceptable" historically, than Uncle and Niece. Growing up I knew three different sets of male and female twins who could hold conversations without talking and knew each others thoughts, who also would sleep together in the same bed growing up, sometimes even into their teens. I honestly don't know if they ever did anything sexual with each other, but I wouldn't put it past them, but among friends and family members, it was never thought about or discussed.
Lord strong is his only Advisor that has given his advice that was not self interested
Don't forget, Daemon was passed over as heir for Rhaenyra. This could all be a plow by him to make her seem less worthy of the crown. That is probably why he did not correct his brother about whether they had sex or not. This will get around to all the other houses and will make her look bad in their eyes. She trusts him somewhat, but he wants to be king. Also, remember he took her castle from her and didn't give it back until she confronted him and told him if he wanted to be the heir he would have to kill her. He is doing things to make himself look stronger and her weak. There are three people up for the crown, as was shown by the play, and the common people like Daemon best. To many people are focused on Otto and his plans and not on the little things Daemon is doing.
I disagree. I think Daemon is just a guy who feels ignored and slighted by his family. He does make political grabs, but I think the thing that drives him isn't ambition but spite. He didn't deny and said what he said to Viserys to spite him. He fought the Crab Feeder alone to spite Viserys. He took the egg to spite Viserys. He chose Otto's son as an opponent to spite Otto.
But below spite is love for his family. And Rhaenyra being the only member that's consistently treated him with a level of respect (ie. being willing to fly to Dragonstone to talk to him into giving the egg back), he has attachment to her. And going by how the scene was directed and acted, I think he was either giving into incestuous desire or plotting to use a marriage with her as claim to the throne, but had a legit change of heart. Yes he put forth a proposal to Rhaenyra to Viserys, but I really doubt he was actually trying at that point. Daemon isn't subtle like Otto. He is blunt in his words and actions, and if I recall correctly, has never directly lied about anything to further his ambition but only ever to spite.
Rhaenyra’s parents were first cousins.
In another life, Rhaenys could’ve been her mother, as she’s also Viserys first cousin. He only married Aemma because of the military power of her father Rodrik Arryn.
Her Grandparents, Baelon and Alyssa were brother and sister.
Her great grandparents, Jaehaerys and Alysanne were also brother and sister.
It’s probably a lot more normal to them then this episode showed.
I wonder how mad Viserys would’ve been if Daemon wasn’t always trying to fuck with him. If Daemon was a normal brother then I doubt Viserys would’ve cared so much.
Nobody:
Daemon: "I'll bend the knee and then your daughters knees"
When Queen Alicent told the King she believes in Ryaenera, Alicent fcked up her father Otto's plans lmao. A HUGE miscalculated move by her if so far she has been following her father's orders.
which is why she obviosuly hasnt. not after she became queen and thus outranked him
Show runners say that Daemon doesn’t go through with it due to impotence not guilt. It doesn’t play that way, but him feeling guilty doesn’t work because his parents are brother and sister
Director says her agressiveness imasculated him, writers say he felt guilt and had already got enough for the rumourmill and stopped, showrunners say impotence...
Everyone wants to spin this scenes discourse in their own ideological veins that its starting to undercut its importance in of itself.
Navi is NOT the person I’d expect to be on board with this incest stuff smh
its not that deep lmao
The tea is called Moon Tea and actually can be brewed (VERY CAREFULLY) in real life. Yes, it will work.
Ps. in real life it is made with something called Tansy.
The 2 boy suitors that fight are from house blackwood and house Bracken
Rhaenyra is in for a big surprise when she marries Laenor! The Normies did such a great job in this video. Their discussion was so good! NAVI RULES!
So for the plan B tea I don't know what the in show/book herbs are. But in real life a Tansy tea has been used for a same purpose.
I've seen a lot of reaction videos you guys are the best 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
me and Navi agree on the main thing... Daemon is so fucking hot lmfaoooo im never into bad boys but he ufff won me over y'all and yes i ship Daemon and Rhaenyra i don't care lol this is game of thrones, if you can't handle incest, don't watch it haha but i do wonder if Daemon likes Rhaenyra for who she is... or if he just wants to be in power
I usually never write any comment and idk why but I just need to say that it's always a pleasure to watch your reactions. You are all a bunch of actual good people with political conscience and im always very confortable with all your comments
Remember that kid at the beginning. His grandson will become someone very fucking important.
"pick daemon"
"it's the targaryens idc"
MOOD this was literally me rooting for them the entire season lol
Rhaenyra and Daemon lowkey got chemistry though 😬🫣
lmfao the random " dovagery"
I really enjoyed this reaction, you guys are cool, just enjoying the show. No one is trying to do stupid jokes or complain about woman rights in fantasy series)
