The game actually doesn't cost much, and I think that's mostly because the game itself has 3 levels, but has a special functionality where you can load your own tracks, and it forms its own levels around the track. It's one of the few Playstation games that had cross-disc functionality, where you could pop out one disc, put another one in, and do something cool. With Vib-Ribbon it would continue to play the game, but it would be able to play music files from other video games and compatible CDs, which essentially means as long as you had compatible discs, you'd have infinite levels to play with varying complexity and difficulty, and you could listen to any song you wanted while you played the game, which is a very interesting mechanic I wish more games had, or something cool like it.

I remember it was specially made so once the game loaded up completely it would be stored in ps1 RAM allowing the game to continue playing when the disk was removed.
they took that to the next level allowing custom cd's to be played creating levels based on it. :)
Finding these videos in my recommended and seeing what people said 3 to 12 years ago is weirdly interesting. Also Overflowing Emotions is a bop, even in a very compressed state.

And still, this is one of my favorite games of all-time and I consider Audiosurf rather boring...I regret buying it...But Vib Ribbon is just pure fun, pure awesomeness...

man ive still got my original copy and still play it from time to time..but watching this, that horrible sense of panic erupted as i watched with wide eyes XD. i barely took a breath while watching haha, and was right up close to the monitor. i cant believe you did it with one error...amazing!!!! i kept wincing..thinking there was gonna be a mess up..but dude..jeez XD. well done! *cheers* now to restart my heart...

This game was my favorite when i was 4 but i never owned it i had a demo of it, I looked at it 2day on ebay and it was $50 and im like fuck that so im waiting for a affordable price now

I played this as a kid, I didn't know it still worked with the disc in, and that's how I turned off games. So I took out Vib Ribbon and it's still playing, the PS1 is vibrating on the table like crazy and I'm like; "MUM, MUM" gg Sony,

I've just been playing this with a Chimney Factory album. Now THAT's difficult.
I played this game for the firs time this weekend. By the end I was able to perfect the first half of hard course, but I still would mess up ALOT on the second half of the second part.
yeah, it's the same for me, but it's a bit too pricey for me, so I cannot afford buying it in the near future. By the way, did you know, that if you pop the game disc into any CD player you can play the Vib Ribbon songs on it? So it's like a standard audio cd...as far as I know, but I may be wrong :)

So after the Octagon Shape you get two Triangles (Hourglas) then three Triangles (Radioactive) is there anything beyond that?
In the Manual you can see a Star Shape. Has anyone ever gotten the MAX Score in this game? I was trying to do it with my Music CD but after 9 Songs the Game just Froze :/ I was at one Redioactive Shape

After seeing your video I have the impression that the PAL version of this game is slightly slower, being then a little bit easier than the Japanese NTSC version.
Anyway I doubt I would be capable of repeating your play even on the PAL version... :)
