Hi, I've been searching and watching youtube videos on upgrading the HF lathe and luckily I came across your channel. I found the part 1 video very informative and since I came across a discarded treadmill, I used your list to purchase materials. My only question is in part 1 you put together what looked like a well built control box but in part 2 you built one made of plywood, why? I've watched the videos a few times to see if I missed the reason you went to a DIY box and did not come across a reason. If I missed it my bad and could you enlighten me? I notice that you haven't posted a video in a few months and I hope all is well, but if you do see this and have the time great and if you don't feel up to it...stay safe. Thanks.
Yes, I'm wondering about that too. Seemed like you had the enclosure nailed. Greatly helpful videos! I might do the same for my Jet 1236VS but it does have a 3/4 hp OEM motor.
Learning from mistakes is one of the keys to mastery. And you're figuring that out. Good for you. If you haven't figured out how to mount the motor yet, check out Matthias Wandel's channel. He makes a lot of power tools and you can probably get one or two ideas from him. th-cam.com/channels/ckETVOT59aYw80B36aP9vw.html

I firmly believe you shouldn't make the same mistake more than a couple times. lol There are always plenty of new mistakes to learn from!
