I find it curious that when true craftsmanship (he measures before he cuts) is demonstrated, the complements flow and the complaints seem to disappear. Patience is a virtue and a sign of a true professional.
In other words - when the job is done right without being sanctimonious, there's nothing to complain about. Problem is, once Derek is gone. we'll be back to the sh*t with Chad and his ADHD and ego.
My opinion is Chad is trying his best and the process isn't always fun to watch but the outcome usly is awesome. And as for his and Jolenes relationship that's there buisness. Why would you be that off . I own a well known kitchen company and millwork company in Alberta and I have no less than 10 employees, not counting myself that have the talents of Derek or better . All do very high end kitchen building and some do courtrooms or millwork that would be required off this caliber. The pure ignorance of your comment is giving way too much credit for this very simple work . This is a Tuesday for many who work for and with me. Not saying all are better than Derek but they are easily as good. I can personally look at any material or space less than 4 inches and without a tape measure tell you that size within a 1/16 “ . No BS , there are many that do this caliber every day with ease also those of us who do stair as in hand railing for stairs is exactly this .
Very nice job. When I was a kid, I worked in my step-grandfather's wooden boat building shop in Port Townsend WA. He was an old Norwegian craftsman, from Ballard, that built carvel-planked (and repaired clinker-built) double-enders. Spent a couple of Summers there when I was 11 and 12 cleaning the shop, learning wood working, clam digging, and horseback riding. Learned a lot.

Chad started by saying his coworker was the word man and he was going to help where he could..i was all fired up as he almost started being a man that was going to listen to a professional..well, whatever this guy has the top figured out..The thing i have to laugh about is he chopped the top only to rebuild it to be almost the same height..
If you look first in stead of opening the gob..the idea is to give the shape a smooth arch and the lower screen height also lowers the rooftop height slightly at rear so all of it is level and lower.
But the bottom edge of the wood around the windows is still two inches lower. If he chopped it 4 inches, to get effectively a 2 inch chop the bottom edge would be 4 inches lower and then the windows get a bit small.
Chad when you have a professional in your shop especially an older gentleman you need to slow down before you piss him off but all in all it looks good viewers it is what it is he is low tech his shop is just an old school garage not to many trick machines but he gets some results keep bringing the pros to your channel it makes viewing much better it's just not all your pretty voice ?

I’m am curious. Both those side rails have a notch cut out for what I assume would be be a cross member , yet they keep taking different lengths off each board and heights ? So how will that line up straight ? Shouldn’t those have been done after heights and lengths were cut first ?

Hi Jolene maybe you could talk Chad into slowing down and planning the next few days ahead. He isn't getting paid by the hour anymore so he can pace himself and concentrate on the finished product. I’ve heard Chad say something about chicken wire over the frame , please no. Make enough ribs so you get the shape and then pull fabric tight. I think the wire would cheepn the look. And a nice light stain with 3-4 coats of polyurethane on the wood would be sharp. Keep up the great work.

round the edges of the wood with a roundover router bit and router making it more of a finished look since they will be seen
