I find it curious that when true craftsmanship (he measures before he cuts) is demonstrated, the complements flow and the complaints seem to disappear. Patience is a virtue and a sign of a true professional.

In other words - when the job is done right without being sanctimonious, there's nothing to complain about.

Why would you be that off . I own a well known kitchen company and millwork company in Alberta and I have no less than 10 employees, not counting myself that have the talents of Derek or better . All do very high end kitchen building and some do courtrooms or millwork that would be required off this caliber. The pure ignorance of your comment is giving way too much credit for this very simple work . This is a Tuesday for many who work for and with me. Not saying all are better than Derek but they are easily as good. I can personally look at any material or space less than 4 inches and without a tape measure tell you that size within a 1/16 “ . No BS , there are many that do this caliber every day with ease also those of us who do stair as in hand railing for stairs is exactly this .

Very nice job. When I was a kid, I worked in my step-grandfather's wooden boat building shop in Port Townsend WA. He was an old Norwegian craftsman, from Ballard, that built carvel-planked (and repaired clinker-built) double-enders. Spent a couple of Summers there when I was 11 and 12 cleaning the shop, learning wood working, clam digging, and horseback riding. Learned a lot.

I’m am curious. Both those side rails have a notch cut out for what I assume would be be a cross member , yet they keep taking different lengths off each board and heights ? So how will that line up straight ? Shouldn’t those have been done after heights and lengths were cut first ?

Hi Jolene maybe you could talk Chad into slowing down and planning the next few days ahead. He isn't getting paid by the hour anymore so he can pace himself and concentrate on the finished product. It's much more satisfying to see a project followed through. Its great to see someone who has such solid work ethics.

lol Chad he’s a cabinet maker let him do his thing! When you’re working with wood you have to take your time and think. Because if you cut it to short, you start over. Unlike metal where you just weld a piece back on. Wood working like that is art.

I’ve heard Chad say something about chicken wire over the frame , please no. Make enough ribs so you get the shape and then pull fabric tight. I think the wire would cheepn the look. And a nice light stain with 3-4 coats of polyurethane on the wood would be sharp. Keep up the great work.
