This tidbit of information is very valuable. As an artist I kind of have been standing in between making money and making art that I'm not thrilled about(pet portraits, landscapes) and being really good at and in love with making art that I'm interested in(pop culture, fantasy, sci-fi) and wanting to turn that into a lucrative business. This giving a statement as to what you can say about your niche is more informative than the other videos I've watched. It's very well thought out and personable in it's description. You have a great way of saying what you want to say to fellow artists and it shows you care about seeing others succeed. I'm subscribing for sure!

I have only watched a couple of your videos and have learned more than I have thought I would from just your videos. Very humble and true to nature, I wanted to say I personally searched "how to get back into art and launching my business". I wanted to get some ideas and watched other videos, then came across you! I got into art and painting when I was in high school starting in 2011 and slowly trickled off a year or two after graduating , so that's in 2017 when I stopped. I always known in my heart that I can go somewhere with my personal talent and just playing with different medias, I am 24 and know art and creativity is my calling. After finding your videos, you have gave me the information I either did or didn't know and more. Its been a rough couple of years for me and this definitely gave me a boost in what I want to do. Really great advice! Speaking as someone who went to art school but has resisted defining - and sticking to - my niche. It really is in our best interest to understand its benefits and embrace it. Constraints are good for creativity, that's what I am now actually learning to work with and this video speaks to that. Also, I love how you broke down how you defined your niche! Ok first things first, you are very practical when it comes to the "idea of art" and that gives me a level of comfort, which i dont necessarily need but i most certainly welcome......"I dig yuh vibes" honestly, you seem real cool lolol....So, i came across your vids on youtube only today, wish i did a long time though. I just discovered your channel literally a few minutes ago!! This is soooo good and sooooo helpful for me! I struggled soooo long with this. I'm an much older self-taught artist who started 5 years ago on my 60th birthday and will turn 65 tomorrow! I felt I was all over the place with my art since I love so many different creative outlet...I have always had a love for drawing Black female portraits. I started out mostly using canvas. Once my son bought me an iPad and I got Procreated, I LOVE it so much and I can create on it for hours and well as design patterns. I need to go back to canvas for a while to see if it's the medium I like more...But...as it stands now, I created 100% in Procreate and don't really 'missed' painting on canvas. I’m a beginner artist and I’ve been considering making things to sell. This video is very helpful but I have so many hobbies and I find it hard to decide which one to sell consistently but I think maybe I’ll incorporate the shifting nature of my hobbies into my business. Thank you for this!
Like she said focus on one or two at the beginning, you just need to at least create a cohesive collection of say 10-12 similar artworks (same color palette or subject matter) so that it makes it easier for people to know what ur about.
