Fingers, toes, and nose. Reminds me of winters in Maine,USA in the early fifties. Had a series Ii TV 175 in the sixties. Sure didn't run like your workmanship!
A few years ago when I was still working in the UK we had minus 17 and that felt like the end of the world to me, my leak detection spray and other stuff froze in my van ! Minus 22 must be hard to do anything in other than sitting by the log burner 😃 Another interesting video though Rob.
Did my TS-1 rings this winter. Mine were 1.5mm gap, the same as Shedtune had on their recent engine check. Piston measurement in barrel was good in line with what they stated. My ring gap was 0.8mm when I swapped them 2 years ago. Let’s see what it’s like in 2 years time. Great video as always.
dedication to the channel there mate.... its not wasted, still loving the content, keep up the honest opinions and reviews. I am also envious of all the Fjallraven gear!!!
mmm whats your port timings mate ? your casings add all the spacing at the bottom there for advancing port timings , will make it revy but loss of bottom end . @@kickbackgarage
I'm following Rob's directions in the videos, I'll go for a casacase and 62x110, MBRT225 reed valve etc, I'll see what happens once I receive all the parts. thanks for your comments and advice in the videos. @@TheSteelweasel
Hi Rob. Great video. I’m getting the bits together for an RT ‘stroked’ engine. Was thinking a 250 but hear conflicting reports about using a 64mm crank. I’m guessing yours is 62mm but what length rod do you have in please? And how smooth is the ride on yours?
@@kickbackgarage cheers Rob, so a relatively short rod then in relation to stroke length. I was looking at a 64/120 crank to make for a smoother ride (supposedly) but all the engine builders I’ve contacted just say they prefer a 110 but don’t say what vibration is like. Living in Consett All the good dealers are miles away too.
My nearest scooter center is 1100km away 🤣. 110 rod is easier to setup the port timings. All lambrettas vibrate. I've done 28,000km on my rt240 and I wouldn't change a thing
@@kickbackgarage thanks. I think I’ll keep it simple then. I know if Ivuse a 120rod it needs a different piston crown height (Honda piston I think). A 128,rod it also needs a huge packer. I’m talking myself out of my crazy crank ideas here. Cheers 😂
yes mate suprising how fast they wear out . im changing rings between 4k and 6 k yes and small end bearing same time , piston change at 8k to 10 k .... is that ported by mb ? looks like his work .
As usual a great bit of work done Rob, keep warm mate 👍👍

I still cycle to work 😄
-22 that's ridiculous dedication Rob, - nice clean motor internals. As always thank you.

Great as usual Rob.
Thanks!

I get a pair of trousers of my wife for christmas, The Jacket is from the 80`s which I bought used and re waxed. Fjallraven stuff lasts for years!
@@kickbackgarage love the keb trousers…
Bloody cold! 29 + here in Sydney.😂
-22f###that 😂 I’d have to have a log burner on full chat before I even thought about going into the play den
thanks for all the good videos you have already made. which base and head gaskets did you use to fit this cylinder?
0.3 base gasket 0.35 head gasket but it's 62 stroke and the casa case is taller to accommodate longer stroke.

There's no wrong way in tuning only different results 😁😁@@catlover5372
The case is only 1mm taller than a normal case.
AF’s website is shite compared with the others. Just think of the sales boost they would get if modernised

It's a special 62x110 crankshaft with wider webs.

Jeez Rob that's too cold just to make vids for us.

Yes. Mb tuned. After 18,000 km these haven't worn out fast!
A little too chippy..... 🥶🥶🥶
