What an exceptional talent Stevie was. I've just discovered this band today and they blew my mind away, especially Stevie. His pianoorgan, voice...Overwhelming.
Just had one of those moments! The opening visuals in the vids shows Spencer davis group home ground in Birmingham UK It's also where I was Born 59 years ago to the day, Odd that I find myself looking at a map of where I was born while randomly listening to some music and it just happens to be my Birthday! Cheers Universe!
I'm a proud Brummie from the UK also, and would love the Spencer Davis group and Steve windwoods voice even if i came from Mars!! Unique underrated talent.!🎶🎸🎶👍🛵
Wow!! 12years old!! What a talent!! He was the UK's Stevie wonder! Yet another Steve! Hay my mom knew what she was doing when she named me! Lol, thanks for sharing the info,👍👍🛵

Greatest English R&B
Your probably right but the Graham Bond Org. might have something to say about that.
I first heard it about ten years ago, on an oldies radio station, whenever they played music from the Righteous Brothers.
Extreme talent - apparently he didnt just sing it, he wrote it at 12 and its been said in hindsight its the best song on that album!
HypomanicProduction1, twelve years old. Was he singing about his grazed knee?
Genijalni!
Brilliant - thanks for sharing
one of their best.
This was the first song Steve wrote when he was 12 years old.
His voice is so deep n velvety for puberty lol. He was a v advanced songwriter

Released in 1965.
Thanks, but I can't take credit for the term. It was coined in the mid-60s, about sixteen years before I was born!

is this one live??
I think so, it sounds identical to the verion I bought which was a Spencer Davis Group Live Anthology...
1965, I think.
could always try the old fashioned way and buy it
Steve Winwood was 15 years old in 1965.
Stevie was born in 1948 & was 15 when he joined the Spencer Davis Group in 1963.
STEVIES MOTOWN
@Shamagogue totally agree ... good call ... definitely the Rascals ...
....The melody ...and some of the words of this song are very similiar to "Groovin" by the Rascals!
Groovin' by the Rascals : 1967
It hurts me so by Spencer Davis Group: 1964 ;)
already did thanks anyway
Quiero volver
@sallieuk1 I've just uploaded it!
Interesting as Spencer and not Steve on vocals
@pearlthegirl try youtube2mp3 ... :-)
Only Steve Marriott betters winwoods vocal great song
+wayne johns
steve marriott doesn't come close to steve winwood.
Marriott wasn't in the same league as Winwood, either as a vocalist, musician or writer.
Steve Marriott WISHED he could have sung like Winwood.
