I really really grateful that Wonpil wrote this song. You see, it’s really not easy to accept and understand people, especially our parents, yes they love us and provide for us but sometimes it’s also hard to love their dark side (because of childhood trauma they get that shaped who they are now). I’ve fought with my father because he eager to do something good for me, he even used pressure and impulsive. As a daughter it gave me a hard time and I can’t seem to understand him. When he gets older, this dark side of his will keep coming back, and I choose to slowly understand him - I’ll try because I love him and I can’t do anything about his past (believe me, I’ve tried), what I can do is to love him despite everything. To treat him highly as he should be. I love you dad💖💖💖💖💖
i have a complicated relationship w my parent (mom) too. i distanced myself from her when she got remarried w/o explaining it to me beforehand and i thought she was replacing my dad. her painful words made me give up on my dream of becoming a designer bc she made me feel it was not worthy. she also gave me mommy issues but i know i need that woman in my life.
