    Once again, I'm very happy to see that a son stood up to his domineering mother. Thank you.
    Every time I see a two-parent household (the mother usually) talk about a single parent and being poor trashy people, they tend to not have a very happy marriage themselves.

      Why go to the mall in the first place?

    • @AuntLoopy123
      @AuntLoopy123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Can't you rent a cart at one of those big malls? Or carry the bags to the car, after shopping at one store, and then going back in for the next store? Or renting a locker?
      It's NOT an emergency. Wait until there IS a REAL emergency. OP won't come. And Linda will have to suffer the consequences as "the wolf eats the sheep herd," because "she cried wolf too many times."
      I used to work with a woman, for whom EVERYTHING was "urgent," and "an emergency." I'd check with my co-workers, and they all told me that "No, she's exaggerating. The deadline is WAY off." So, I learned to automatically put HER stuff at the bottom of the pile.
      Well, one day, she gave me something, and told me it was "an emergency! It's really urgent!" So, I did as usual, and put her thing on the bottom of the pile. Fortunately, one of my co-workers came to me to ask about the thing, because, "This time it's really an emergency."
      I dug the document out from the bottom of my pile, and processed it at once, while the coworker waited. I did NOT get in trouble for my actions, because everyone knew, it was just a matter of time before something like that happened. That's why the co-worker came to ask for the document! They knew it was necessary to tell me, "Yeah, there really ARE wolves this time. I'm a second source, confirming it for you."
      You know what? That woman did not learn her lesson, and contiued to say EVERYTHING was urgent and an emergency. I even talked to her about it, and asked her why something that was due in three weeks was "an emergency," and she told me, "I just NEED to make sure you process it in time!"
      "Right. And I've been late HOW many times?"
      "Well, never. But I NEED to make sure you handle my stuff ON TIME."
      "You mean, like I handle everything on time? Even though it's not an emergency? Because I sort by priority?"
      "Right! And MY stuff is ALWAYS the priority! Because I tell you it's an emergency!"
      "So, when YOU say it's an emergency, for LITERALLY EVERYTHING, you think that's going to make me disregard what my BOSS tells me is the priority? And when HE tells me to drop everything else and work on THAT project, you seriously expect me to work on YOURS, dropping HIS, because YOU tell me that something is an emergency, when it's not due for a month?"
      "But, it's MINE!"
      "Yeah, and I don't work for you. You're not even in my department. I take direction from MY boss and from the people in MY department. If THEY tell me it's an emergency, I will deal with it promptly. If YOU tell me it's an emergency, I know that you're just being selfish and putting yourself above everyone else, and sorry, but the VICE PRESIDENT OUTRANKS YOU! Don't bother to tell me if it's urgent, or not. From now on, I will take your papers, and check with my co-worker, who is HONEST, and let THEM set the priority. That is all. I have to get back to work, now. I have ACTUAL deadlines, here."
      Yeah, she didn't like that. But, my co-workers knew to approach me directly for HER things, if it was urgent, and they knew that I WOULD process her stuff in a reasonable amount of time, if they did not, and they didn't WORRY about it, except for those two or three times when the project actually was urgent. And they knew that if THEY told me, I would believe them, and handle it accordingly.

    Why is Linda ASSUMING that she doesn't even know who her father IS? And that she has always been poor? She TOLD Linda that her mother took GOOD care of her, and that she never wanted for anything. And she said her mother raised her alone, since she was a girl, but not "I never knew who my father was. He wasn't around when I was born, and Mom never told me." For all Linda knows, OP's mother was a widow! And "since I was a girl," indicates that she was AT LEAST old enough to REMEMBER HER FATHER. A GIRL, not A TODDLER or A BABY.

    DIL needs to work on being less of a doormat. She let her MIL badmouth her, berate her and order her around like a slave and she just takes it. She needs therapy or something to work on being less of a doormat before kids. We don't need more entitled kids running around.
    I get where the husband is coming from proclaiming to be the worlds best driver and all.
    Sadly one drunk can ruin that. I mean I heard here while back about a guy that was going to his first service as a preacher. Just came back to town after training on his way to church and killed by a dunk driver.

  • @sassbrat
    @sassbrat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The thing with my dad's mom with my mom was that my grandmother was raised that a woman must submit to her husband on certain things Sex was not one of them my grandmother would have chopped it off of her husband ever tried that with her. She was just hoping that my dad would marry the girl he was dating before meeting my mom but it didn't work out and here is the funny thing is that girl set my dad up with my mom and mom and her are friends. My grandma said some not nice things to my mom about her marriage but not about my mom but in the end my mom and dad were the only ones that stayed married right until a month ago when we lost my mom due to health issues. So all in all my grandmother is a saint compared to this mother in law
