I have tried both the Astar and Ritz Tachometer and both these fail as they display incorrect RPM values and should be avoided.

You should have used ritz diesel tachometer with 6k rpm limit, it works correctly for me, also oem parts looks better. 👍
Ritz Diesel is also a 4 cyl engine so the error remains the same. Try comparing it with the OBD port and check the error once. I did a lot of research before opting for aftermarket tacho. Even I wanted to use MGP, sadly though it doesn't display the correct RPM values.

Hello brother need some suggestions from your side on installing a aftermarket tachometer on a bs6 2023 alto k10 since there is no oem tach
Same process as shown in the video. Let me know if you need any other info.

Hello brother.....very informative and nice video.....i wanted to know how did the steering unit wiring will provide the pulse rate......and how this pulse indicates the exact RPM of the engine?
There are few inputs that the power steering module takes as input like speed, engine RPM etc. hence that's where we got the RPM pulse and it's correct as it variates with engine speed. I have done the required research to save your time & efforts.

Firstly i would like appreciate your clean installation sir, its super tidy installation. Sir can we install alto k10 speedometer which already has tacho meter inbuilt? is it a direct fit??
Thank you so much 🙏🏼 K10 speedometer console should ideally work, but in reality, one needs to find out the pin configurations of all the pins in the plug and match it with the existing plug. You can give it a try 👍🏼

Alto k10 has a different coupler, but if you juggad yourself a different connector you might be able to do it. If you I have the service manual of the 1st gen K10.

Great video! I want to install a tachometer to my 2003 Gypsy King but it does not have an EPS module to get the RPM signal. What are the other possible sources to get the most accurate readings? And also, will the tachometer need any calibration?
Yes the tachometer is fully customisable and can be calibrated from 1-8 cyl engine. If your Gypsy is a MPFI model there has to be a pin around the speedo console which will pick pulse. Another way of working around it can be to pick up a line from the HT coil.
Where did you get the wiring diagram for the dash and what tool do you use for OBD2 readings?? Also, isn't the RPM shift light configured according to the RPM?? I got confused when you said "cylinders".
I figured everything out myself. The RPM pulse comes to EPS module on every Maruti Suzuki car, so that was told to me by some experts, I tried it and it worked perfectly.
Shift light is controlled by the knob given on the tacho ... It's also configurable. The button is used to select number of cylinders. All this was mentioned in the user manual of the tachometer.
I use a generic OBD2 port reader to get the realtime values.

@@MototechWanderer Maybe something to refine that engine and tranny of my Altroz. It's horrible. It does the job. But the engine noise is so so bad. Maybe post the 3rd service where they change the engine oil, it might improve. But yeah

Mostly possible, just check if your Alto has an electronic power steering or not as the pulse signal is picked from the EPS module.

Hey, well a fuse is always better, however considering the speedo of the car goes through the car's fuse, we can be assured that it will blow the car's fuse before anything extreme happens.

Yes, as this is a configurable tachometer, so no error issues.

Astar are 3 cylinder engine. Not a 4 cylinder engine.correct you
I know Astar was a 3 cyl but the electronic pulse is not a 3 cyl one for the K10 engines apparently. It works on a 4 cyl pulse hence Ritz and Astar tachometers show the same error rate.

Unnecessary work. No need of rpm meter and it's not wise to distribute company original waring. It will be better to purchase a obd scanner and connect it with a old android mobile with Torque application.
It's a personal choice and a beautiful touch to any vehicle. I already have OBD scanner and I compared that with the Tacho during the testing phase. Android app has a huge lag where Tachometer is on point with zero lag.
It's very necessary for increasing beauty of engine & enthusiasts driving pleasure 😌
Camshaft sensor se pulse milay ga
Milna chahiye.
@@MototechWanderer yes milna chahiye coz camshaft sensor generates pulse of 5 to 15 volts on each revolution of camshaft, Which itself is RPM
But check if the tacho can handle a 15v pulse. Might blow something as the EPS pulse is a 7v one.

@@letsgethandsdirty you said 15, hence my comment. One more aspect is running a wire from the engine bay where the cam sensor sits till the cabin is comparatively complicated than running it from the EPS which is inside the cabin.
