@@frankcorral4981 yes he was wounded After the war he was sent back to his rez...no gratitude!! Same with the Lakota Sioux who were used during ww2 they will speak in their Native language to past on informations the Japanese couln,t understand...same fate for them when the war war over

Just came back from visiting the Black Hills area to include a side trip to Pine Ridge and Wounded Knee. Talked to some elementary school kids from Red Cloud school on a field trip to Devil's Tower. Delightful children. Ted would be proud.

Thunderheart is a great movie, which bears lots of resemblances and indirect references to what happened in Pine Ridge in the 70's, and the following incarceration of political prisoner Leonard Peltier. IF you want to know the real truth about the FBI/Lakota war, I'd recommend you watch the movie 'Incident at Oglala', and read the book 'In the Spirit of Crazy Horse' by Peter Mathiessen. Put together with this movie, Thunderheart, they paint a pretty good picture of what really went down, and why Peltier is still locked up in prison to this day 46 years later.
You have to take his land and steal his wealth and keep his women and then her children to protect you from the others whose land you may one day take.
