The Inside Zone RPO scheme is one of my favorite play. The simplicity of the Inside Zone RPO scheme is amazing. What happens when the defense takes the Inside Zone RPO scheme away though? Then you need to use these three variations off of the Inside Zone RPO scheme.

Today on offensive breakdown, I break down NFL schemes that get covered by the likes of QB School and Brett Kollmann. That’s right, the spread offensive breakdown is seen in NFL offenses and are covered by the QB School and Brett Kollmann
Not NFL Offense, But brett kollmann breaks down NFL game film and offensives. This QB School like offensive breakdown goes deep into the NFL spread concepts and how high school football can use NFL style plays covered by brett kollmann and QB School

    Hey Coaches,
What do you do when the defense takes away your favorite RPO?

Coach McKie i try to have a 3-4 options ready each game so i can have at least one answer for each defensive structure i could see.

I'm running RPOs with Jet sweep motions and a mobile QB I designed an offense called the triple motion which uses alot of bubble slant combo with an additional option pitch. My youth team averaged 75 points a game

Coach, Forget your stick to Y on your second phase. Outside release on the B to get your Y up the field on the S"s left side to hold the S to the inside and then read the C's drop to take away R or his attack to take away the shoot. Seems like you would get an uncoverable 2 on 1 on the C every time?

i love to use H-back formations (H/Y aligned as sniffer between guard and tackle) with inside zone. ill typically tag a bubble screen rpo to the slot. h back can be away from twins, hell come around tackle and look for first treat. he can also be aligned to the twins and do the same thing. running back aligned to twins. running inside zone away from twins. a good change up is ill run a bubble go. read the slot defender if he attacks the box throw the bubble. if the slot defender attacks the box and the corner attacks the bubble he throws the go. the WR acts like he blocking and then goes over top. if slot defender stays he hands the ball off.

      Coach Clarke,
I the idea of an H-Back. But I'm too much of a 4 wide receiver purist to use one. I know, I know. I need to do that because it makes the defense have to worry about defending an extra gap. But I can't make myself do it.
Have you always been a H-Back/Tight End kind of guy?

Coach McKie if have that type of personnel I will. I prefer to have an h-back. But, If I have 4/5 good WRS I'm going to use them. If I have an h back I'm going to use him. In our 4 WR sets we still run power/counter but it's different. Instead of kicking the DE we will read him. The QB or the RB can be the dive player in the power read.

Hey Coach, I'm digging all of your videos. I understand the spread & air raid offense much better now after watching them.
I see that RPO's are becoming increasingly popular at all levels of football. Do you think hypothetically that a team's running game could solely consist of RPO concepts?

      Coach Deorsey,
Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to me. And thank you for taking time out of your day to watch my videos and leave a comment. I love hearing from other coaches.
I think teams could use RPO concepts for the run and quick game. I think you need to have a couple of dropback passes just in case, or maybe some sprint out. Something to change it up on the defense.

Coach, what is your RB footwork on IZ?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Coach,
It's a three step process: First step is a six inch search step with foot closest to the QB. Second step is his opposite foot steping towards the center's butt crack. Third step is straight downhill.
We teach it as this: Open, Cross Over, Downhill.

If so easy why not scoring 42 a game?
    Where is your team's film?
