I am from NZ and just pulled the stock as a rock 13BT on my FC to open up the primary ports a touch and bridge port the secondaries..for the 'pulse' and a lill more grunt. Your explainations are very clear and well understood in all your vids. Thanks
I really appreciate your vids. I'm in the process of having my 20B rebuilt. Rear rotor spun its bearing. In the tear down I discovered the horrific job original outfit did in bridgeporting it. I won't say a name. He also used the wrong front gasket which led to very low oil pressure and so on. Your videos are helping me figure everything out. You do a great job. Thsnku.
Great work explaining everything rotary on the fly. It's alway enjoyable and informative and I think you're the only one that goes into so much depth. Keep it up. I came across you by accident but I've watched every episode.
@@RADPotential the fd right, we swap turbo2 engines in 80 corollas , Suzuki samurai for sand drag and 😂were ever we can put one Loving the channel dude keep up that awesome work 🔥💪🏽
Im glad you touched on the 6 port FCs. I’m building an S5 6 port right now in a REPU clone. I half bridged, so I did a bridge on the aux and secondaries, primaries are just street. I’m turboing it too, retaining the stock manifold, so I will have functional aux actuators and even the variable length runner (dynamic chamber) actuated by boost. It will be a bit dangerous running boost with these high compression rotors, but I will be running water injection to make up for it. I haven’t read about this being done before so I’m excited to see how it works.
Don't worry Rad.We do not get offended 😉. PR is in fact the land of the fastest rotary in the planet and we rotary swap everything. You are a rotary lover so who knows you might have some rican on you lol. Love the channel by the way.
You ain’t lying. I remember the fastest 13b in PR back in the day. Was Serafin Rosado with his Datsun, “the new millennium” making like 7’s in the 1/4. That dude still have the news article that the title said: “boricuas encuentra la receta del motor rotativo” good ol times bro
Nice information 👌, and yes the gsl-se intake is internally separated primary from secondary I just checked that on my intake "dynamic chamber", I was wondering about it because I want to do a half bridge and keep some good driveability at low rpms, thanks for keep making cool videos specially for first gen and gsl-se models, like 👍🏼
Well, Eric. I'm buying my first project. Thank you for making these videos!!! I am going to pick up the car this week. It's an 84' GSL-SE. the engine doesn't run so it's going to be a sweet project! and it's A MANUAL heheeh. Radddd
Stumbled across your channel last night looking stuff up about the 12a, I’m picking up my first rotary this weekend and was wandering what I should look for and what’s some mild stuff I can do with it? Also love the channel, very informative!
Nice bro thanks again from Australia. Would be interesting if you ported your RX8 and played with that too. Keep up the content man, your channel will definitely grow!
Rotaries necessitate low pressure Fuel pumps especially for drivability like trucks because of extremely big bores they have. It’s like almost a huge cylinder turned sideways because of bore and stroke configuration on 13b and even 12a. I’m gonna try a Toyota Tundra in tank fuel pump or a Silverado truck one for off the line on my RX8 cause it likes to bog down and it needs better acceleration. It’s what the Puerto Rican’s do for drag racing: low pressure pumps to push more fuel and then a high pressure fuel pump. But I can’t get anyone to install them for me. I would install if I could a Tundra one in tank and the an inline Weldon high pressure 80 to 100 psi after the low pressure Tundra pump.
Great knowledge you bring to the table my friend.. how can we support your channel and efforts more so? I would love to show you my appreciation for you sharing the wealth of information on rotaries.
For the 6port s5 motor you are talking about. Could that port work with a stock ecu? Or would some kind of fuel management be needed? Love all your content btw!
I believe if you street port a little bit the primary plate it will be better in all the aspects than the stock one,of course the second plate is gonna be a bridgeport for the brap’s
Can you kindly make a: How to Achieve higher RPM past 7150 in a S4/S5 NA HBP/sp setup, irons, housings, rotating assembly, counterweight, flywheel, rotor weights from which variant, for 9kish grip/rally racing 🏁
Great video. I often see people advising against doing an Aux port bridge which I really don’t understand, I’ve never done it myself but in my mind it works like you experienced with yours. I have a FC S4 euro 6 port with a weber set up in my first gen. No sleeves, the aux is done by butterfly valves at the port. perhaps I should covert it from weber to EFI and put the stock intake back on. I also have a half bridge 12A weber and I think it’s crap. Might be ok with a staged throttle set up but with the weber it might as well be full bridge really.
The aux port Bridge is epic if you can maintain the factory sleeves as it takes the overlap away at low rpm. Keeping your drivability up. As you mentioned the half bridge with a weber might as well be a full bridge. The benefit from bridgeporting the primary in that situation is barely noticeable. I went from a half to a full bridge 12 in my silver car with the same carb and intake and it was about the same
I think as my car is a euro spec with 6 ports without sleeves I would avoid bridging on it unless I went full bridge. My 12A I will probably bridge the centre plate too soon
Its wild that the euro intake is so different from ours here. I just looked at the design of it. crazy!! I feel the USDM one functions a lot more efficiently. your irons are still able to fit a usdm sleeve? or are they different within the ports on the iron?
Hey, I never comments your video and I have a question but I will start by saying that I like a lot your videos the way your are doing it , great job!!!!! So my question is (if u ever read this) if I I bridge port my secondary ports on an 6ports fc engine will i have the brap? And do i have to go all the way up to the top port to all the way at the bottom of the bit port ? If u understand what I mean that’s great because I am French 😅 By what I understood is I will have the brap by porting the secondary port but the 3-4 first cm starting from the bottom are important because of the exhaust port open at the same time , am I correct ?
Have you ever heard of a large street port on the primaries and a half bridge on the secondaries? I feel that wouldn't sacrifice too much drivability but still allow for a potentially wider powerband and get that sweet brap at idle
Hi, I have a FC S4 euro 6 port, and I would like to know what kind of porting can I do to my engine and keep my stock ecu? Or in other words, can I make my car brap with the stock ecu? By the way, keep up the good work, love your channel. Regards from Portugal.
When I built the blue tII I did just the secondary’s with the pineapple racing jig. I reamed out the primary’s a lot and gasket matched the intake too. It idles nice low, takes off and cruses like normal-but after 5k you can tell. Commonly called a mild port.
I definitely need to talk to you about my rx8 looking to build a engine for it but not 100% sure the route to go, and where you located maybe you would be interested in building the engine
Youve got a knack for dropping videos i plan to ask people about 😂 nice one dude!!!!!! What about porting and combining 5speed/6speed boxes plus the diffs for driveability any combo you prefer?
I've been looking at ITB setups for my S5, as I've found some old forums talking about they took a stock FC keg and was making around 180whp, which interests me because i love n/a and ITB cars so i figured why not combine those with a rotary and has a sick combo. But that being said I've only found one kit so far and that's from EFI hardware and uses 2 ITBs like a weber setup and wondered what experiences you may have 6 port cars and drivability with a weber like setup? sorry for the long comment and thanks for any advice!
when a 13b na is half bridge ported will the gas flow keep up in the high rpm or how do you get a stock efi car to add more fuel will the car just get faster without doing anything else after you bridge port it or what do you have to do on the fuel side and how do you do it to get the most power?
Not quite a question concerning the video, but I bought my first rotary the other day. 93 Fd street port, single turbo, Haltech 1000 ecu . Runs great and idled at about 1000 rpm. Went out for a drive to show my friend and made a pull. Pulled back up to the house and it was idling at about 2000 rpm. Probably would be a vacuum leak somewhere? Maybe throttle sticking? Got any ideas?
Do turbo intake manifolds also have separate throttle bodies? Would I have to get a special turbo one? In terms of cost, which one would be the best? Looking to build a turbo rew with rx8 e shaft and other parts of possible.
If you have an S4 RX7 NA and keeping all the stock intake and exhaust...basically everything, what would you do to the porting to extract most of the stock setup?
I would do the 5/6 - aux port bridge and then a small street port. Up the fuel pressure a little bit and stick an AFR gauge on to make sure its not lean up top, and keep the aux ports functioning. The S4 runs off exhaust pressure to open the ports for you. Like a gslse
The hardest part for me is generally all the time spent working on RAD stuff is after 7pm every night and then my full weekends. I still work a full time job as an engineer
@@RADPotential took mine to deals gap a few weeks ago. Very underwhelming, I feel like a streetport with a smaller frame turbo would have been a lot more fun.
