    I really got a kick out of making these and looking at these on my Christmas tree! Keep in mind I added a ribbon to make them an ornament but you don't have to, you can display them on a shelf and they would be super cute! What fun a paint night (like a sip n paint or even an art event for children) would be doing this project and they are small enough that you can paint several if you wish. We will use paint markers making it even more fun and mess free!

    Love this idea! I'm an art teacher and I'd love to have an art-themed tree one day. The markers will make it so much easier!

      I was just thinking how awesome it would be to have an art themed tree.
      I wonder about saving used up supplies (dried markers), empty paint tubes, paint brushes that have seen better days etc. as well.

    These were so neat! Love 'em! If you taught high school art, your classes would be full and your students would be so lucky. The school I went to was so small we didn't even have an art teacher except for one year. My junior year the school hired a retired elementary teacher that had a minor in art. She was fantastic.

    I don't think I heard anybody ever say The scream to be 'so cute' :) but .... yes, very fun ornaments for artlovers. Nice video.

    You are happy your paintings were recognized as you intended. I am impressed a high school boy knows the original masterpieces as common knowledge! Gives me hope for the future. 😌. And in your version of Starry Night, I see The Statue of Liberty.

    Great fun idea Lindsay, I love it. Some time ago I wanted to paint a larger version of The Scream but I couldn't understand what I was seeing in the background, the many originals contradicted what I thought I'd seen & where other artists were painting water I saw a church. Luckily Munch (pron Moonk) was well documented speaking about this piece & I eventually found this blog www.popspotsnyc.com/the_scream/ where they showed the exact place in Norway & superimposed one of his lithographs of The Scream over it. It was really interesting to read & much easier to paint once I knew what was there.

      I had heard that the sky was that color because a volcano had gone off, so there was ash in the sky and that's why it was that color.

    Great idea for a fun time. I guess you would put a watercolor ground product on them and then use watercolors?? With asthma I need to stay away from paints with a strong smells. This would be fun to experiment with. Thanks for the idea!😁👍🏻

    • @thefrugalcrafter
      @thefrugalcrafter  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Essie, you can use an acrylic paint pen if you prefer. You could also get 300# watercolor paper which is thick like cardboard if you didn't want to bother with ground as well.

    • @jenniferjohnson7277
      @jenniferjohnson7277 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure as I am a beginner still, but you could possibly put gesso on the mini canvas so you could use watercolor.

    I think Mona Lisa would wish you did a mini portrait of her. Maybe she would have gotten it then. Plus she would have had cheekbones.😁😉💜
