This is THE BEST Pleated mask. I've been searching low and high for a nose wire where it can be taken out between wash. This will be my GO to Pattern. Thanks for sharing. Now i can make my masks :). Great tutorial!! Mask is beautiful.

Great video! I took on some new tips and tricks. Can't wait to try my hand at those fisherman knots..very cool! I'd been using cord toggles but this is nice if supply is short,etc. Love your adorable mask models!

Thank you so much. I’ve made one for myself using the adult size pattern. Fits perfectly. The only thing I changed is I added one more centimeter to the band where you put elastic since it was pretty tight and I couldn’t fit my cord through it. This was the design I was looking for. Pretty straightforward

@@SewingSeedsOfLove Yes, the elastic channels weren't wide enough. I've paused your video when I made this @ 2:14 to get measurement for the elastic channels. It says 1.5x4.75. I added an extra cm because it was small. Overall very nice tutorial. I really love the fisherman knot too. My mask fits so well. Thank you!

I have made so many of your pleated masks from the original pattern for co-workers who don't sew or have unusually large faces and can't buy a mask that fits them. Thank you so much for the patterns. I use 2 layers of cotton with fusible interfacing. What kind of fabric are you using for the lining on the seamless fitted mask? It looks so elegant. It looks like it would feel soft against the skin.

Thank you for this video and for providing free patterns! I’m making masks as thank you gifts for daycare and other essential workers. I accidentally made the first few using the wrong dimensions (had printed the pattern from my phone), but it fit my face much better, barely leaving a gap. The only issue is it doesn’t line up perfectly so I have to hide some of the excess fabric on the back when I pleat. I’d say I have an average size face, and the “correct” adult size seems far too big. Are there tips for getting the sides to lay better against the person’s cheeks?
You may wish to print the adult pattern at 95% to get a smaller fit. It is the average adult sizing as I’ve modeled it after a standard surgical mask sold in mass markets.
Thank you for the tip. I’ll try one at 95%. And you’re right - I followed your instructions to the letter, and they consistently turn out to be the same size as a standard surgical mask, but since they’re custom made, I’d rather adapt it slightly to fit a little better. :)

For the life of me I can't find the templates. What should I be looking for? I love the 3D No Seam pattern, but find the dart hurts my nose after a few hours so would like to try the pleated. I really do appreciate you sharing your patterns and ideas....thank you so very much.

The adult mask is a little on the large side... Do you have any recommendations on how to make it more fitted under the chin?? Also a link to your video that shows how to do the fisherman's knot would be great, since you stated you had one. Also, I doubled the lining layer, since now updated masking should have 3 layers. Sewed up well.

The finished pleated mask is the size of a standard surgical mask. I suppose fit is always relative.

Doris DeV this definitely has a better seal on the sides. But the other version is simpler for beginners (takes less time to make), this one may be a little more challenging for them.

Makes a nice finished mask. However, I never could get the pattern. Because I am an experienced seamstress, I watched the video many times to make the pattern myself. It would be nice to have written instructions along with the pattern because watching the video all during the sewing process was not good.
I don’t think it’s fair to expect TH-camrs to provide a video AND written instructions.

measure 7 in length ...the bottom is cut off so its 1/4" short to make it 9" long from PDF

Martha Wong it’s drafted for A4 printing. And A4 measures 8-1/4 x 11-3/4. Are you able to print on a paper for about that dimensions?

You are all crazy. Patterns say 7x9 but clearly 6x8. The elastic flaps come undone when putting the elastic through. I've never been so frustrated with mask making until I encountered this one.
Holly Korta, I understand you’re frustrated but there’s no need to be rude? May I know which size were you attempting? Toddler, kid or adult? The elastic flaps would not have come undone if you have caught the fold correctly when “stitching in the ditch”. Watch from 11:13 again. You need to be very precise at this step.
