I'm a big fan of Terry though I don't play him that often. I do tend to play him in Arcade when MotW doesn't quite scratch that Fatal Fury itch. I can't wait for CotW!
I'm loving him, super fun and rewarding. I'm with you on the fact that this is how all characters should be designed. Relatively easy to pick up, high skill ceiling to master. It feels like characters with stupid long cancelable heavy punches still have a leg up on him, but if they tone those but buttons down a little bit I don't think Terry would need more buffs.
I don't think so, the benefit of those 5HP is giving those characters a solid heavy button for "hit confirmable, high reward poking" and "whiff punish" Even they torn down their 5HP, make it work as Luke 5HP(loss the hit confirm ability), terry 5HP still not a good button for whiff punish
@@computervision557 the average heavy punch is 10 frames, only two frames off and the reward is higher based on meter spend. It literally meant to whiff punish not always poke thats why it does what it does on punish counter. I only whiff punish with it
Less awkward to use, my combo is harder to drop now, but he still need some fix From the perspective of character restoration, it’s done very well, but he’s not a good shoto character. The design direction has significant flaws if you compare him with other shoto If they want to make him a "unga banga shoto", they should make his special like crack shoot/burn knuckle/quick burn better You want to play solid neutral game? Why not choose other shoto? You want to shut your brain down and unga banga? Why not you choose Ken? Not to mention Ken is perfectly fine for solid neutral game too
By the way, not just Ken, I think Ryu has better unga banga game plan compre with Terry He is still an inferior shoto to use compare with other, even Luke is better than him(after 2.5 patch, I guess Ryu maybe a better character than Luke)
Honestly I don't think they want him to be a traditional shoto Everything about him is about bullying his way in and then mind gaming your opponent into accepting pressure/drive damage that's sometimes fake, sometimes real
I don't know why but round wave after heavy tackle just seems to weird to DR after. Like after trying to get it down for a while now, I seem to be able to do the old heavy tackle into light power wave way easier now.
Terry has* evolved. Love you Mura, don’t ever lose your accent.
Your character analysis skills are on point and keep up the great work.
good vid. I did not realize that lane change had any niche uses.
Cody doesn't approve of Terry's using his line.
It's the other way around
The connection goes even deeper apparently; the blonde wall-puncher in the SF1 opening (Joe?) would later inspire Terry and Cody in their own series
Good info. I haven't got to play since the update.
Looking forward to finally trying him w/the changes. Fun vid. Thanks.
Great vid Mura! Put to words my exact thoughts about Terry being great at chipping away at opponents drive meter now

Also terry is good vs bison 😁plus after the buff, terry modern control got uplifted to be top along with chun, cammy and bison. nice video bro
Fantastic work

@computervision557 it's not intended for whiff punishment
He has a st hk that you don’t have to drive cancel, you just (wish) whiff punish with it and get 3000 every time for the same 3 bar radius
@@BravadoLuciano It is a nice tool for poking but not whiff punish, 12F is too slow

Maybe over the time, some Terry players can manually time the walk forward throw loop, and he became mid high tier and winning big tournaments.

@@lorcanman Yeah, but Ken, Akuma and Ryu can do that better than Terry, this is hilarious if you ask me

That Psylocke is sexy AF
We need wolverine over Akuma
