This video provides instructions how to replace an engine intake air filter on a 2020 Acura Rdx. website:liquidgoldprem... Instagram: www.instagram.... Instagram: ... Instagram: ...
Thanks for the video. The one thing I worried about was getting the push pins out, but thankfully the Acura service techs already broke BOTH of them for me. Makes me wonder what else they half-assed.
They are easy to break. One broke one today. I also found out that you don’t need to remove the push pins at all. The rubber intake thing is actually two pieces and you can detach the second piece by itself from the piece that is attached by the push pins. Then you can bend things out of the way and there is enough room to get to the air filter box.
Just took care of my engine air filter myself. Thanks to your perfect instructions!! Thanks man!!! Acura like to charge over $100 bucks to do it. So you saved me 😁😁
Thanks! Good video. Would not have known that this was your first video as it was well done. I liked how you showed all the screw points as now I know what to pull to get to the filter box. You should do more like this as a lot of persons have the 2019-21 RDX!
Thank you for your video! I was able to change my filter easily. The only thing was I broke my clips getting then off, but had some in the garage. Any suggestions on how to not do that? 😂
Great video. When I went to do mine I noticed the right push pin was missing, Acura tech probably broke it or forgot to put it back in. I didn't have to remove the left pin, I just rotated the cowl upward and out of the way.
I was at my dealer yesterday for an oil change and he showed me my air filter and cabin air filter - I couldn't believe how dirty they are. Then my advisor said it would be $150 to replace them! What!? I just ordered the filters today and am gonna replace them soon. Crazy! Who decided to make that filter so hard to get to?
Hi. Thanks for the video! Can you post one on how to change the cabin air filter as well on the 2019 RDX? It doesn't have the typical glove box anymore..
Awesome follow your instructions and was easy, but my 2020 2.0T Acura RDX A SPEC engine air filter was soaked with used oil underneath...any ideas why?
I will judge you because you did a fantastic job with the video and while doing a portion of it one-handed nonetheless! I need that push pin tool. Broke a push pin trying to get that plastic cover off. Such a nuisance.
Is K&N Filter really worth it? I have to change filter now and not sure if I just buy regular one or K&N one. Don't mind doing regular clean up that's required but is it really gonna make a performance difference?
In my opinion not worth it. I had K&N Air filter installed in my one of my vehicles. The element allows tiny dust and other small particles to pass through. The oil to recondition the filter after cleaning overtime will cause the MAF sensor to clogged up. The HP gain is hardly noticeable if any.
It doesn't change the sound except in your head. The only the that would change the sound - barely- would be to cut holes in the air box intake to bring in more cubic feet of air

No problem anytime! 😎👌
Damn straight not paying them big bucks to do this when I can do it myself and the part is less than 40 bucks

Thanks so much!!! I wasn't sure I could do it myself but I did thanks to you! It took me about 15 to complete. 😊
Appreciate the well done video. Looks like Acura made something that used to be simple a real pain in the ass.

Yes, get a retainer clip remval tool for $8
This worked just fine for my new 2023 rdx, too. Thanks👍
Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to make this video.. just did mine.

Awesome follow your instructions and was easy, but my 2020 2.0T Acura RDX A SPEC engine air filter was soaked with used oil underneath...any ideas why?
Yes, you have a leak in your system

Thanks for the video. Does it sound louder?! I might go get one.
Thanks for the love!
It only sounds a little bit louder, you mostly feel a better throttle response.
Thanks for posting. I have been waiting for some to post this too.
😎😎😎
Chris Cormier for the plastic cover on the engine, just simply pull it up by force right?
Yes sir!
Chris Cormier thanks! :-)
Anytime! 🤛
I accidentally dropped the pushpin and I couldn’t find it anywhere, Something to worry about? any pointers?
No, just order a new one from the dealership or Amazon.
does it make the blow off value sound like the FK8? curious as it has the same engine as the Type R
It's a little bit more noticeable!
But one of my friends did asked me if I had a blow off valve. 👌🤣
It's probably alot more noticeable from outside, I never really had a chance to here it, cause I dont let anyone else drive my vehicle's!
I have the same exact car in the same exact color. I subscribed so if you post a video I will watch it and comment. Appreciate it thank you!!
🙏🙏🙏
So many steps to change a filter.
👌🤣
I agree! I believe they want to make it harder for the do it yourselfer so therefore you'll take it to the stealership and pay $80-$100.
Question; do you need to apply an oil to the filter after each time you wash out and re-apply?
Yes you do.
Thank you so much!!!! Great video to the point
Np anytime 😊

I can definitely feel a little difference.
My opinion its worth every dollar. 👌

job well done.
Well done.
Thank you
How did it sound after the filter replacement? I've been thinking about doing the replacement and was wondering if it changes the tone of the engine.
Sounds deeper and you can hear the turbo a little bit more.
It doesn't change the sound except in your head. The only the that would change the sound - barely- would be to cut holes in the air box intake to bring in more cubic feet of air
Nice!
Would this void the warranty?
No!
Do you hear the turbo alot more?
A little bit louder!
Do u have a link where to purchase?
Amazon

Good video to save. However, I cringed when I saw the air filter box on the paint of the other car. :)
Thanks 🙏
Lol...
I cringed when i saw the changed wheels and then completely lost interest when i saw the sae tools being used instead of metric.
Did you notice any change in hp or sound?
It feels a lot more responsive!
👌😎
So hard! Why many screws 🤣 saved
How your gas mileage ?
Not the greatest! But I have a heavy foot...🤣
Why change air filter on new car?
I wanted more airflow. 👌
How the f do you get those stupid plastic pens out? I broke one. Go figure Acura using all plastic junk.
Very carefully lol
After breaking one I got the 2nd but did take my sweet time lol!!
Your hands look like a bun up roti!
Lol
Bun roti tastes good!
