    Love your channel here in the Blue Ridge Mountains Of Western North Carolina! My little sister passed away on January 5th of cancer and we loved watching your channel together, your adventures always made her go to a better place and eased her pain, we was trying to save up enough money to get her some of your tee-shirts and apperal but the medical bills were just to much. I just wanted to say thank you for what you do and if you ever feel like what you do isn't worth it believe me it's worth more than you will ever know to our family. Hopefully we can come to Florida one day. Love you guys and thank you for everything that you do!!

      @@arvilcockerham6508 that's awesome! And a cool coincidence, i lived up in Ararat for 6 years, just outside Mt Airy & moved back here to Jonesville again about 2 years ago, lol! My Mom's family is from Elkin, Daddy's is from Jonesville. Sounds like we've got the makings to start an NC Mountains chapter of a Blue Gabe fan club here on this thread, lol 😂😉

    It’s a lot harder than you think. I bought 10 traps this year. I’ve caught 6 crabs with two keeper claws at a cost of about $600 worth of gear and bait so far and that doesn’t even count fuel and my boat… maybe I’ll get the hang of it, but right now I’m at about $300 per claw!

    • @seekanddestroy7343

    In South Carolina you can only take one claw. This is so they can still protect themselves. In Florida is it different? Or is it ok because they are licensed to do so. Please clear this up for me Gabe. Great video keep up the BANGER content!!!

    • @gungadinn
      @gungadinn 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Florida allows both claws to be harvested provided they are of legal length. It's a 50/50 on those that take one or both claws.
      Personally, I'll take blue crabs over a stone crab.
      Both blue crabs as well as stone crabs are more flavorful if steamed. Boiling removes most of the fat in the meat. I remove the claws and sit them aside. Break the legs off the body, break the back fin for the large lump of meat, then pick the rest of the body. Once I get my fill, pick the claws and use that meat for crab cakes.
      The last time I got stone crabs at a restaurant they were $65 a pound.

    I would like to know if there's any "loss factor" for the buoy markers getting ran over by other boats. Is that even an issue, and if so, how does that work out??? Another great video, I really enjoyed it Gabe.

    • @seekanddestroy7343
      @seekanddestroy7343 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    And, sorry to put politics into this, but the labor, money and knowledge,,,massive investments in infrastructure to provide for the economy, (citizens), is amazing.
    Now our federal government wants to mandate observers on every commercial boat, mandate the boat Pays for the government observer. Up to $700 a day!!!
    Geez. These fishermen crabbers and the lobster people are going to be put out of business.
    Hard working people and families being harassed by a pencil pusher.
    We love everyone in the seafood industry.
    I want some melted butter ready when the boat hits the dock.
    I really appreciate these guys feeding our bellies!!🇺🇸🇺🇸. Vote wisely

    • @gungadinn
      @gungadinn 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I were a commercial water-man and was forced into an observer, I'd build a 4X4' shack on the bow of the boat for the observer. A few days with 3-4 foot chop would be more than enough to not want the job. Leave the dock at different hours every day and make sure that any events the observer had scheduled, they'd be late for.
      Nothing personal, well not that personal.
