great video. Acrobat reader is no longer supporting flash video anymore as of 2021. The way you show it used to work great but will no longer work. Any idea how to get the video to play in a pdf now?
While FLV and F4V files are no longer supported in both Acrobat and PDFMaker, however, if you're using Acrobat Pro, it does support .mp3, .mov, and other files encoded in H.264 (with AAC audio). You can even convert other file types into one of the supported formats by using Adobe Media Encoder and problem solved 👍
i have indesign 2023 and i followed your instructions and when i open the interactive pdf only the sound (screen is soundwaves) plays, the video doesn't. any idea why this is happening, the original file is an mp4. thank you
Thanks for the question. The video should play, but every user has to set the Preferences in Adobe Acrobat to use the native system (like Quicktime) player; mp4 will play just fine.
Thanks for the question. You need to export to Interactive PDF. Once the video is set up, go to File > Export. In the Export dialog box: Choose the format Adobe PDF (Interactive). Select your destination and name the file, then click Save. In the Export to Interactive PDF options: Ensure that Interactive Elements is selected so the video and any buttons you added will function. Adjust other settings as needed (such as page range, compression, etc.), then click Export. Hope that answers the question!
The most likely cause of this issue is that the MP4 file is not compatible with the version of Adobe InDesign you are using. MP4 files are not supported in versions of InDesign prior to CS6. Additionally, some versions of InDesign may not support certain types of MP4 files. To ensure compatibility, you should use a file format that is supported by your version of InDesign, such as MOV or FLV.

Thank you very much for the video :) Does it also work with mov or swf files?
It should work with mov but I guess swf support is withdrawn.

Whenever I try to import mp4 file it says “import failed” how to fix that?

So I upload the video as a mp4 but noticed I can't see the video, I can only hear the audio and see the buttons.
Ensure that the video is not a big one and it’s an H264 encoded file
What format it should be?
Media file types such as QuickTime (.MOV), AVI, and MPEG are supported in exported interactive PDF files.
Do we get error if it is WhatsApp video file ?
Don’t think so cuz they are usually mp4 files.
Nice video
Thanks a lot for the appreciation! It really means a lot to me!
I'm sorry but I try what you explain in this video but it doesn't work. I'm literally crying because I need it so much...
Ensure that you’re adding the right format of the video.
