I love the ambiance of you sitting in front of the fireplace. Does your new place have a fireplace? If so you can call it “Nidhi’s fireside chats”. 👍🏿. Have a great week

I feel like in my late 20s I started recognizing the important stuff, I learned to take a stand. Earlier ppl around me influenced me in some way or the other but now I feel like I have a better understanding where to compromise and where not to, what is important for me and my mental health. Late 20s is like an awakening phase in so many ways. Going to be 29 this year.

The room at the spa looked really nice. Great to have a hot tub attached in order to enjoy it in all privacy. Glad both of you enjoyed this weekend getaway.
A lot of things change in your 20's and 30's like starting a professional career, first serious relationship(s), having children... all of this also brings with it a shift of friends with common interests or having children too. Very few really good (childhood or youth) friends actually remain after (or during) this period of life.

It is SO true how friends who you thought you’d have in your life long term are no longer part of your life. I really started to feel and notice this exact thing from like age 24-present (27 years old). I really struggled with this a lot and it felt like a loss years ago, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that even though my circle is smaller, it is filled with genuine, caring and loving people. A lesson I’ve learned is that it is OK to outgrow friendships/people. You can reminisce on the memories and moments you shared, but you shed parts of yourself and people as you evolve and grow. Like a butterfly. Definitely a lesson I was not prepared for, but something that is inevitable and is OK as you ebb and flow through it.

So well said ❤️, it's exactly that. I think the shift in thinking has a lot to do with not seeing friendships that have run their course as a "failed" friendship. They are nice while they lasted, but theres no purpose in maintaining things that don't bring equal energy and peace. Thanks for this ❤️

@@NidhiShukla this is so true and exactly what I’ve come to realize and understand. Thank you for also sharing your thoughts with us ❤️

when you said “i don’t have the energy anymore to care what others think” and everything about friendships…felt that in my soul. at first i took every falling out i’ve had this past year so personally and spiralled real bad. but something changed in the past few months and now i’m just like…big whoop. ta-ta then! hahaha. you really don’t give a f once you reach your late 20s and it’s a wonderful feeling

I'm glad it resonated! I was the same. Falling out's used to feel like a personal failure for some reason, but I just don't have the capacity to run after people at this point, and I'm okay with that ;)

I’m going to be 30 next month, and the thing that I really started to accept about friendships is that there is no minimum requirement for how often you have to contact someone for them to be considered a friend. A lot of people assume that if you don’t see/talk to someone everyday, then they can’t possibly be more than an acquaintance. But my closest friends have always been those that I can go weeks or even months without talking to. But when one of us does reach out, it’s like no time has passed. If you need to talk to your loved ones every day, then that’s great too. But some people (like me) don’t, and that doesn’t make my relationships any less valid or loving.

That's a good point. I completely agree, some of my closest friendships are with people who I speak to every now and then, but like you said, it's as if no time has passed ❤️
