@@firstservantofmumeiguardia6963 then you are the true Pokemon protagonist, you understand that while Absol might at first seem at first glance more smashable then Honchkrow because it is a mammal, in reality Honchkrow is more smashable because it has better stats, and is a flying dark type, and is amongst the best compared to both of those types, appearance is one thing, being a more similar species is one thing, but smashing requires speed and power too.
The reason why Nidoking is bad is because it's a stone evolution. Since you can get stone evolution so early the game balance them by giving the bad learn sets. So the optimal strategy is to have them learn good moves as there prevolution then evolve them. But in a randomise there just stuck with really bad moves.
Yep, rule of thumb is to expect no learned moves from a stone evo, though there are exceptions like the Eeveelutions. And in Sword/Shield you can abuse it because of free unlimited move relearner at all Pokémon Centers; all those moves the prior form could’ve learned get listed as Level 1 in the evolution’s learn set, so you can “remember” them right away.

Idea for a nuzlock: iron mouse has to pick which Pokémon Connor can and can’t use. Connor is allowed to pick where to get an encounter, but items, manage moveset, etc, but mouse has full control over the team roster and who is used at what time. Hell mode: ironmouse can reject evolutions and only 1 Pokémon per area
This is such a wonderful thing. Heartgold is one of my most enjoyed Pokémon games. I recently learned how fun randomizers can be. I hope your next adventure goes well. Giving money to mom in randomizers can be a god send. Sure 8/10 she will give you berries but, sometimes she can give you good items like any of the choice items, a focus sash, or something else awesome.
For her first Pokemon run being a Soul Link Nuzlocke, with someone whose Pokemon knowledge is average at best... I'd say Ironmouse did really well. Props to her for doing this. And yeah, sometimes losses in a Nuzlocke can be pretty emotional, especially when you know it was your carelessness that caused it. I don't blame her for getting sad this time.

Dunno why he was so against her getting Mareep. Mareep line is decent and electric is a good type. Machamp is better early sure but it's a randomizer so you can't really rely on knowing what's coming up anyway.

Connor's Nuzlockes always end up being the equivalent of loading saves in Jump King. Makes sense with Mouse to cheat a bit, but I wish he would actually commit to the difficulty. That's part of what makes the content entertaining. Like watching Jump King wouldn't be fun if he could just load a save when he misses a big jump.
I hope they do another one of these soul link nuzlockes it was so fun to see live that I had to watch the TH-cam video to remember the good times during that run.

Though its tm move pool is what makes it the most op pokémon to use in nuzlocke especially if you play later gen where it gets sheer force
