Hi sis Nozi, Im sorry I have never travelled before so my comment will be a bit off topic but I would love to say that I have been following you for quite some time and I really enjoy your content, very informative, very educational and also very inspiring. I'm also a 30yr Mother of 3 who was born HIV positive but managed to concieve HIV negative children (without the support of my Mom as she is now late, I am actually an orphan) and would like to have a sit down with you one of the good days, just to share my journey with you and how its been going from birth till now. I hope I score an interview on your channel one of the good days 😊❤. P.S.. I really admire you 😊
@@chiedzaanna735Hi girlfriend, No I didn't breastfeed all my kids. However with my first child, it was not a decision I had come to by myself (I also wanted to breastfeed) my Dr suppressed my milk from coming out shortly after I came back from Theatre (gave birth via C-section). I remember him giving me pills but I don't remember him explaining to me what the pills were for until later when I asked the nurses if I can breastfeed my baby and they told me that I cannot because the Dr has already suppressed my milk (I think I was the first patient he has ever dealt with who was Positive at that time so he was just trying to protect the baby) I don't want to lie and say this was an easy journey for me because it wasn't, I remember suffering postpartum depression simply because I felt like I couldn't connect with my child in anyway (the C-section was an emergency because they detected that my baby could not breathe from the inside... He had what they call "fetal distress" so they had to take him out prematurely). To cut the long story and answer your question... Yes you can breastfeed your child even if you are HIV positive, infact it is highly recommended especially in government hospitals, provided that you take your medication well before, during and after pregnancy. The child will be on a syrup called Nevirapine for 6 weeks after birth to prevent any exposures of blood that may have happened during labor. Sis Nozi does cover this on one of her videos when she was pregnant.
Thank you Mrs Mayaba, this was very informative ❤❤❤❤I also had planned to work in Saudi Arabia but got denied because of my hiv status....it broke my heart badly but ke other countries are really strict and there's nothing we can do about it
From a public health perspective HIV is a concern given how rapidly it can spread and our behaviour these days. Ideally all countries shouldn't allow anyone to relocate with HIV because of the implications on health costs. South Africa too but ke like Nosi said politics 🫥 our health care is overwhelmed cs we look after everyone in 🇿🇦
I have to disagree with you on that countries should’nt allow thos who lives with HIV to relocate, firstly that wil be discrimination and also when people relocate to other countries for economical purposes they pay taxes and national insurance meaning they are contributing to public health costs.
I was in Dubai...I didnt get asked any of that. I'm an American-Venezuelan. The only medical card i travel with is the Vax card and insurance travel card. Anyway, good information. Thumbs up :)
I was also in Dubai this past Christmas and New Year, did I not catch the flu and had to consult with a doctor...it was very expensive 😅 also there are areas where I found meals to be more affordable as compared to where I stayed. Using the Metro was also affordable and quite accessible.
Ma'am!!! That jab as Skhu's age, usile Nozi 🤣🤣🤣 I still cry about the amount of money I spent in Dubai for only 3 days. But Bali I would highly recommend. A lot more affordable with a better aesthetic
Nozibele uzibonile indlela omhle ngayo Sanalwam? Make up on point lala, the hair konke man. Inoba uncume u Skhu xa ekubona, thank you lala for this info again.
When I went for UNi in UK they only required a TB test I wasn't asked about health stuff as well. I just got there and registered with a clinic and started receiving my meds
Listen!!! The costs shocked me! I would convert every transaction until hubby also told me to stop otherwise l wouldn’t do anything or eat anything at that rate!!
Very😭🤣🤣 Remember paying R80 for 500ml still water! That was it, I stopped converting everytime I bought something 😂 Mara nje Dubai is the girl that it thinks it is. I wouldn't mind visiting yearly🙈 Sidinga imali qha.
True for working abroad they are intense medically. I’ve worked abroad for almost 10years. Also while in the country your working in every year you go medical checkups anything wrong they find you might be sent home no matter how small it may be
Dubai is expensive, but its actually weird traveling there seems affordable(accommodation & flights) but being there daily is Very expensive food the activities are expensive .
Nozi you are putting in light when you say other Countries deport you when they realise you are HIV positive. My ex went to work shutdown with colleagues to Qatar for a month. On arrival they realised one of their colleague is HIV positive. They isolated him while processing deportation, they wrapped his belongings like an infectious person, even the people where wearing heavy protective gears like handling someone with Ebola until they board the plane back to their country.
The restrictions might be a means of containing the strain of the virus avoiding multiple strains that would need a wider variety of medicine availability which can be costly.
Im on a spousal visa, my husband is working here in Dubai. Yes you have to do medicals in order to get approved for a residency. We on a 2 years residency, the longest residency you can get as a non Emirati is 10 years, its called a golden visa. So the visa we're on gets renewed every 2 years. We had to do an hiv test and a lung xray. And if both parents check out fine the kids are given the visa automatically.
True Arab countries do not allow you to stay (more than the tourism visa) if Hiv+. Some Asian countries too. Then there is netherlands where they say you dont even need a script to get ARVs ( I dont have proof of this) I read it ftom their info on hivtravel.
I included breakfast in our accomation cost. You can tell them to pack it for you to eat later, just a tip for someone. Call the kitchen before they close and tell them what you want and they will pack it for you, you won't need to pay extra for breakfast 😘
Askies😢🤣 I guess it also depends with the hotel as well. We stayed @ Grand Hyatt Dubai they were so cool, coz we were definitely not having breakfast before 10:00 during our honeymoon stay 🙈@@NozibeleQamngana
I’m so proud of us as South Africans when it comes to ACCOMMODATING for everybody. Some countries are strict STRICT. Any foreigner is a high risk to their society. Most specifically when it comes to “ chronic “ conditions. It’s not just HIV.
I would like to beg to differ. I don't think it's something SA should be proud of, I think we should be more strict considering how our health system is not up to par. Restrictictions should be made but not in a discriminatory manner.
@@heathermbambeni529 I beg to differ; it’s more than capable to accommodate everyone. And so is the other countries. But when the government wants to start discriminating. They come up with expensive health care and insurances which puts even more into their pockets. Even when people tried to come up with healing mechanisms. Their research, healthy remedies etc will never be given out to help the public. If anything they benefit more by having more sick people than healthy ones. It’s very unfair for someone who was born with something chronic or hereditary and be side lined. People cross borders to just give birth in SA not because it’s the best; but at least they can get free assistance. Every country should extend that kind of grace. Every life matters. I just hope that our government creates more employment. They are more than capable but politics will always interfere with the budgets to do so. Rather they buy fancy cars and private jets than help a life.
I'm not with you there, I work under health department. If you can see how they abuse our resources, you will faint. That's why we are in the in gutters. Our own people are suffering because we have uncontrollable influx of undocumented foreigners, and they are using the same resources we are using. It's like taking food out of your children's mouth and giving to neighbors children
There was no need to disclose because you were not going to stay long, you were booked in a hotel. It would be a problem if you were to stay longer, with friends.
South Africa doesn't have any restrictions, it's a land of plenty. People come all over the world to do most expensive surgery operations, and go back to their country afterwards. But we have thousands of South Africans on waiting list for those operations. I just don't get it!!!
You are correct, countries are not strict in terms of meds when on a business or tourism visa. I’ve had my migraine prescribed meds and also pain meds at various ports of entry but have not been stopped or asked questions. I’ve had layovers in Dubai and they never bothered me with meds in my bag. To be on the safe side have a copy of prescription. But we are required to have travel insurance in European countries (which it is needed when applying for visa)which covers for any medical expenses you might incur in the particular country. Travel mercies to everyone travelling in 2025 Side note: I always feel Dubai is unreasonable expensive even in the airport. Bottle of water R200😭😭😭 burger and drink R500 hayi I can’t get used to it.
Hey guys, need some advice...so I checked out the website sis Nozi suggested and I found that the country has no entry restrictions on people living with HIV and so I need advice on whether to disclose my status to the agency that is helping me with my internship overseas or not?😢 Please help!!
I feel its soo discriminatory man when you cant even go and study because you are hiv positive.... there is already HIV anyway in most of these countries...but i guess it make sense
Can I have a websites or contact details of Dubai Office for Application of Visa Nozi please. I’ve been directed to Agencies and they are charging from 110 to 150 usd.

You would think because they are developed countries they would be more inclusive.. yhoooo
Not gulf countries. They test everybody for tb, hiv, hepatitis b ... who work in the country.
