At 2:00 the ref diving to try and stop his head from hitting the canvas is so goated

I've seen other ONE refs do that, must be trained to protect the fighters.

    Carnage.
Poor young dudes are crashing each other sculls and are shortening the lives of each other.
They wouldn't do that without pressure from the price money and inflaming of immature mentality by trainers and the public.

Uh... This is common Muay Thai. Has been in Thailand for the last 90 years every single day, especially out in the farm regions.
It's their lifestyle and they have done it since they were kids... Trust me, they were getting paid peanuts before ONE and they probably were in wars with far less regard to their actual safety by the refs.

They've been fighting for scraps well before they ever came into this promotion for more than half their life, this is all they know, this is how they put food on the table, if anything they are finally getting paid what they are worth so its a moment of celebration and chance to finally get what you've dedicated your whole life towards ... the damage has already been accrued well before they got involved at ONE and i can assure you no trainer is looking to waste his time with people who are unsure or undisciplined in this sport, if they didn't want it they wouldn't be here ...
They've racked up several hundreds of fights for pennies on the dollar before this moment all of which posed the same risks, they know what they signed up for, this is Muay Thai not tap dancing ... There are no victims here, only the best of the best ... If this is the life you choose i can assure you the reasons for it are well cemented in their heads so there's no reason for you to place blame or take pity on them ... I'm pretty sure they look at the average wage slave life you most likely live as a sad existence in comparison, preserving your hours like they have any meaning when you spend it wasting it on something you're not willing to die for ... at any time they can decide to stop and go that route but they don't, to live a life like this you have to have passion for the sport beyond what most average people can even begin to fathom the training itself stops most people in their tracks from getting into this pedigree, this is not a choice for them ... its a calling.

@@dacoup5955 You would be more convincing with short admission you enjoy dog fights and don't care adout life-long consequences to others.
