I decided to move away from Peugeot 205's for a little while and venture into 206 ownership, I heard they weren't as reliable and are prone to issues but did I manage to escape a wealth of problems? Let's find out...

Got an identical one that I've had 4.5 years. Get a dpf delete pipe and egr blank and get it mapped by hdi tuning. Oil cooler seal kit is around £20

I’ve heard it can add extra power as well as stability , is that true? It so, I’m quite keen to go down that route too!

Yes takes it to about 140bhp and makes it much more reliable. Economy improved alot too
