I remember that bothered me too and what struck me about the episode of Miku was how Toya revives and why, it counters 'why' he was actually dying in the first place. (giving up the mana). However, they do make a point to mention that regardless their time together is limited, because we'll they can't predict how their lives will procead, which is why treasuring their time together is so important. their lives do tend to be choatic afterall >w> which is why their daughter is named Miku, they 'future' for a peaceful future.
Awwwww im so happy with the ending.. Aya & touya together, with their baby! But poor aki. He suffered a lot though. And touya, its hard for him knowing he'll not live longer although he wanted to stay forever with aya & their baby...no matter what, he really embrace the blessings & all the leftover time he has.
I'm glad that in the sequel Aki was reborn as their second child. They didn't really touch bases how Touya will survive in the novels. In the manga Touya did mention he did only have one or two or more possible years left. It doesn't mean that his life was extended, so I am still expecting Touya to die at some point later in their marriage years folks.
the ending mentioned that Toya only lived for 1 year, 2 years, or even more... I don't see any problem with it. Because the most important thing is that they can be together, even though that time is limited. That limitation makes every moment they spend together even more precious and worth cherishing. It's also possible that Toya can even live longer than that, or a lot longer. For me, this is already a complete happy ending. A good anime with a great song theme

Throughout their journeys, the main characters are implied to not truly know what would happen to Aya once Ceres finds her Hagoromo. In an earlier episode, a discussion between Yuuhi and Ceres implies that if Ceres were to succeed, Aya's consciousness would disappear forever. Despite this, Aya still continues to help her, knowing that if she did not, her entire family, including her brother, would perish under Ceres's might. In episode 21, Ceres reveals that the Tennyo come to the Earthly realms with the sole intent of giving birth to descendants, and that she actually does not know what she is, what her true origins are, or what the true "purpose" of the Tennyo even is. In many ways, the true nature of the Tennyo are implied to be more Alien than Celestial. By the end of the series, after witnessing the courage, compassion, love and sacrifices made by Aya and her companions, Ceres essentially rescinds her original intentions.
