Show him reach for Tony. Show Tony hesitate and then grab. Show their exchange. Show Stane's betrayal and death. The pacing would work very well, just not how it is here. It needs to be trimmed a lot.

More of a shortened scene than a deleted one. Still, they did a great job on the final editing decisions: The final product was near perfection and still holds up to this day as one of the top Marvel movies ever to be released. RDJ was absolutely the best choice for that part.

Not sure why Obadiah tried to just take atony with him in death. Would have been better if Obadiah was saved by Tony honestly. And Obadiah could have seen he was wrong and felt sorry for what he’s done or something. Would have made for a unique first villain.
I wish this scene stayed in. It would've circled back to how Obadiah bragged to a dying Tony about how the Iron Monger Suit wasn't "conservative" in its design. Only for the design to be the cause of his death in front of the man he tried to kill.
The death of Stane from the comics had way more weight than movies were able to show.
