When Harvey goes to see Mr. Santana, the taxi driver, and tells him to back off, Tony realises that it was Harvey's personal driver who hit him and he sees a huge opportunity to make some money from this.

@@Chewy427 Because it wasn't green, and saying so would be committing perjury. Might also be street or traffic light camera's they can check through later on to prove it wasn't green. And that wouldn't go well for the taxi guy.

Oh wow i just noticed. When Harvey said "Objection" which was declined he knew it will be declined so he can use this later on: "when i made the same objection you told his Honor it was highly relevant". Genius
I wouldn't say he had the foresight to know he would be objected. He objected because he claimed it wasn't relevant, which may have been the case, but the cab driver proved it was relevant. Harvey was just astute enough to catch it and use it against him. No party tricks, just smart, educated, strategic plays.
Harvey was playing chess while the cab driver was playing checkers.
Moreso, not that suits ever truly portrays the legal system accurately, but when Mike is called to the stand Mike is surprised and Harvey smiles. Since lawyers have to disclose evidence and witnesses before the trial in discovery, my thought is Harvey already knew Mike was going to be called and just kept it to himself. Mainly to prank Mike, but also Mike sort of reluctantly giving the answer played into Harvey's hands
Again, it's all speculation, but if Harvey was as legendary as he's supposed to be, and u Consider his philosophy of "play the man", this would be a genius play of giving the taxi guy enough rope to hang himself with.

I loved this episode, the first season was the best season.
Best things can't go forever
6th season was most intense because Mike in and out from jail and Harvey making Mike passing ethics board but show's charm was first 2 seasons

Everyone’s entitled to their favorites. I actually thought the first season was worst. I get it; snappy lines, mojo characters, hot co-stars, major egos; I.e. NOT the way the real world and real law firms work at all. Some shows, like House, can have that, but still show a dominant human side. Except the ego part, maybe. Anyway, I was a lot happier with subsequent seasons.

The moment I like the most in this episode is when Mike's phone starts ringing and Santana turns around and looks at him in a way like "You didn't turn it off, really?", as if he had worked as a lawyer for his whole life.
Can't believe this guy told Harvey that he'd wipe the floor with him. Loved this scene. Harvey destroyed with just one question.
The question wasnt what destroyed him. It was the timing of the question. 1st he had to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that he was running late to the most important event of his life, before asking the question so that the "i dont know/i dont remember" reply would become incriminating and possibly perjury.

@@graddeosif there was traffic cams they would've used them. If they had access to traffic cam footage they wouldn't waste time with mind games. So that case, answering yellow would make sense. Don't blame people when you don't know things

@@nosakhareanthony5677 tv show, scripted, staged, fake. Suits is all of that too but at least it isn't about someone always having a trick up their sleeve. At some point it is actually boring when a character just can do everything.

I love the switch in Harvey's expression, sympathetic when telling the Taxi Driver he has a rep to maintain then suddenly stern when we looks at the judge a couple times and tells him "that goes for you too Judge"

I really loved this case! It was pretty simple but it was also one of the ones that hit close to reality. The thing abt this case is that both parties made a mistake at the same time in the same event while doing their jobs, and both had a lot to lose, but one was the driver for a hot shot lawyer while the other was a taxi driver who got no one to back him up but himself. This case showed that Harvey cared a lot about Ray, which was why his first instinct was taking offense, but at the same time knew that beating Santana was not necessary over smth like this. I also loved the way Santana fought for himself but also knowing very well that the damage done to him was partly brought by himself. In the end he was just trying to protect himself, and Harvey saw it through. Man I love Suits S1 so much.

Mike wouldn’t be surprised he was getting called. Lists of witnesses are made clear to both sides.
Not always, a witnessed can be left out of the list, but then the opposing side would have to object and ask for time to prepare for unforseen circumstances which the judge could allow or block. If there is no objection the judge is not obliged to refuse the witness.
Within the same case, one side could wave the privilege to be told prior about witnessing a case through what he said or did, just like what the taxi driver did that gave harvey authority to use the time irrelevance status against him 2:05 . sometimes you can do or say something that could wave your right to certain privileges in court.
also in special conditions, I think, where the witness being called is representing or directly involved with the defendant

@@sebastianmaregatti How did he have Harvey on the ropes. Nearly everything he threw at them was disallowed. Then he throws a hail mary about the driver being 10 minutes too late while knowing himself that he was a lot more late to his appointment.

He actually explained he had studied the legal system in order to earn his citizenship after 9/11. It’s something o really liked, a man doing what he needed to do to survive.

I love in this bail out episode, when Mike leaves the courtroom, after Trevor's phonecall. Harvey races to catch up with him. He is lecturing him, but in that one moment you can see in Harvey's face that something is seriously wrong. Great acting from Gabriel ❤️

Not much for amusement - more for protecting Ray, which was utterly loyal to him. He took this case himself and pro bono - so Ray won't have to worry about legal fees. Harvey protects his people to the last.
